In Destiny 2 the new Update 3.2.0.2 is released today, on May 25th, on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S as well as on PC and Google Stadia. During the maintenance for the hotfix, the servers will go completely down, targeting annoying bugs from Season 14.
Season 14 is supposed to run smoother: Today marks the start of the third week of the Season of the Splicer in Destiny 2. This week also kicks off with a fresh update that addresses disruptive issues: Hotfix 3.2.0.2 adjusts the top loot, the seasonal artifact, and an exotic.
- Update 19:02: The update is now live on all platforms. On PlayStation 5, it is 235 MB in size.
However, the update also brings maintenance work and a short server downtime. This means you will have to take a forced break from Destiny 2. MeinMMO will inform you of the important times and update this article throughout the day so you don’t miss anything.
Maintenance on 25.05. – All about the process and server downtime
The important times for today:
- Maintenance starts at 6 PM German time.
- At 6:45 PM, the Destiny servers will go down, you will no longer be able to log in and will be removed from ongoing activities.
- From 7:00 PM, the servers will come back online and update 3.2.0.2 will be globally available on all platforms.
- Once you have downloaded (and copied) the update, you can log back in and start the new Destiny week.
- By 8:00 PM, the maintenance work in the background should be completely finished.
As always: The times are not set in stone, and it is quite possible that update 3.2.0.2 will take a few extra minutes. There may be login issues and queues until 8:00 PM. During the entire maintenance, third-party applications or the official companion app will be hardly usable or only available with restrictions.
Update 3.2.0.2 changes top equipment, catalyst, and mod
Bungie has already introduced us to the key changes that update 3.2.0.2 is making:
- Completing 8 loot quests for the weekly “Splicer Servitors” challenge will now be rewarded as intended with top equipment.
- The Sign Activity will now be rewarded with top equipment as intended. There is nothing standing in the way of the excursion on the Ghost ship.
- The Energy Accelerator no longer increases damage against players. Furthermore, the Energy Accelerator no longer increases base damage for “Symmetry”, “Telesto”, “Black Spindle”, and “Deathbringer”.
- The mod Energy Accelerator from the seasonal artifact has been deactivated and should finally be equippable again.
- The exotic catalyst for the pistol “Cryosthesia 77K” mistakenly received progress through energy weapon kills.
These issues have plagued the Guardians since the start of Season 14 two weeks ago and have annoyed you on MeinMMO, as you have repeatedly told us in the comments. Particularly the missing power level of the supposed top equipment was often a cause of frustration.
According to the patch notes, the two new exotic armors for Warlocks (St boots of the tinkerer) and Hunters (Star Devourer scales) from Season 14 have been slightly adjusted. How significant these changes are remains to be seen.
What do the patch notes for Hotfix 3.2.0.2 of Destiny 2 say?
With each update, Bungie releases official patch notes. In these, the developer announces all buffs, nerfs, and changes that have made their way into the game.
