Destiny 2 receives Update 3.1.1 today, on March 16th, for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, as well as on PC and Google Stadia. The patch brings maintenance and a brief server downtime. We provide you with the times and a preview of the changes.
What’s coming today: Before you can struggle in the Nightfall leaderboard or continue the assassination story of Zavala and the Cabal Empress from Season 13, a mandatory break is on the agenda today.
- Update 6:05 PM: Update 3.1.1 is now available on all platforms. It is 492 MB on PlayStation 5.
The update 3.1.1 is released on March 16th and fixes many gameplay bugs. However, this is also accompanied by maintenance work and server downtime.
You will find all the important times and changes here. MeinMMO keeps this article updated throughout the day so you don’t miss anything.
Maintenance on March 16th – Everything about the process and server downtime
These times are important today:
- At 5 PM German time, the maintenance work will begin.
- At 5:45 PM, the servers will go completely offline. If you are still in Destiny 2, you will be kicked.
- By 6 PM, the servers will be online again and update 3.1.1 will be available for download.
- Once you have downloaded (and copied) the update, you can log back into Destiny 2.
- At 7 PM, the maintenance work is expected to be fully completed as planned. There may be login issues or queues until the end.
As always, please note: The planned times are not set in stone. In the past, there have been deviations, which we will report on MeinMMO. Also, during maintenance, third-party applications or the official companion app will not be fully available.
What changes does update 3.1.0.2 bring to Destiny 2 today?
Bungie has already given a preview of the changes from update 3.1.1. However, if you expect balance adjustments for Stasis in PvP today, you will have to wait until March 23rd.
These fixes are coming today:
- “Arbalest” has less aim assist, which should make precise hits in the Crucible harder.
- In the strike “Fallen S.A.B.E.R.”, numerous problems have been fixed: The boss now appears correctly, issues in the mission dialogue and other annoyances are a thing of the past.
- The strike “Devil’s Cave” should run smoother: The boss has a health bar, the physics of the mission and spawns work as intended.
- These exotic armors receive fixes: “Starfall Harness” only grants overshield during Thundercrash, “Dune Strider” correctly triggers their shock now, “Omnioculus” grants melee energy as planned, and some faulty descriptions have been corrected.
- For numerous weapons and their perks, descriptions or effect displays are now shown correctly.
- The triumph “Double Trouble” from the Dreaming City can now be obtained.
- Completing the Ascendant challenge “Shrine of Avarice” now provides correct progress for the triumphs “Ascendant Champion” and “Sharpened Edge”.
What you should also know: Currently, players are having a lot of fun with a glitch that allows oversized fireteams in raids and nightfalls, for example.
- Bungie has taken a bit longer with the fix – but today the 12-Guardian action should come to an end.
- Such things will probably be a thing of the past: Now guardians in Destiny 2 even jump ships to death
- Bungie humorously describes the fix: “A problem has been fixed where players could cram 12 people into an activity that clearly couldn’t handle the power of so many guardians.”
Bungie also reports that today, on March 16th, you will temporarily not be able to collect clan XP (until 8 PM). If you have errors scanning objects in the Signs mission, you must first completely scan the “analyzable set from the previous week” and receive the corresponding triumph.

Patch Notes for Update 3.1.1 of Destiny 2
What does the official list say? Bungie publishes official patch notes for each update. Here all changes are listed and only then do we know what has changed in Destiny 2.
In the meantime, we have the German patch notes. Here we have linked the change log:
We have linked the original English change log for you here:
What do you think of the changes? Would you rather have the Stasis changes today or is the nerf for Arbalest enough to take another step into the Crucible? Do you think Bungie will take note of the great popularity of the 12-player glitch and bring larger activities in the future?
