Destiny 2 is also being updated today, on April 1, with the new update 3.1.1.2 on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, as well as on PC and Google Stadia. For you, this means maintenance work and a short server downtime. MeinMMO provides you with important times and known changes.
This is no joke today: In the last weeks, Destiny 2 has released update after update and changed the mysterious algorithm. And also today, on April 1, the new hotfix 3.1.1.2 awaits the Guardians. This has been announced for a while and is not an April Fool’s joke, it certainly wouldn’t be a good joke.
- Update 7:05 PM: The hotfix 3.1.1.2 is now available on all platforms. On PlayStation 5, the download size is 215 MB.
The update brings necessary fixes, but also comes with a short forced break and server maintenance. MeinMMO shows you the planned changes and which times are relevant for you today. The article will be kept fresh as usual throughout the day until the evening. This way you stay up to date and won’t miss any details or patch notes later.
You still have time before the update to take advantage of a rare offer from Banshee:
Maintenance on 01.04. – All about the process and server downtime
These times are important today:
- From 6:00 PM German time, maintenance work will begin in the background
- By 6:45 PM, you will be kicked out of the game at the latest and the Destiny servers will go completely offline.
- At 7:00 PM, the servers will go back online – Update 3.1.1.2 is being rolled out worldwide
- Once you have downloaded (and copied) the hotfix, you can log back in
- By around 8:00 PM, the maintenance work is expected to be fully completed
Don’t forget: During the entire maintenance work, there may be queues and login issues. As always, the planned times may shift, and you may have to wait a bit longer for the update. Third-party applications or the official companions app are only very limitedly accessible during the maintenance.

What changes with update 3.1.1.2 in Destiny 2
The Destiny developer already gave a little preview of the content of today’s hotfix on March 25 (via Bungie.net). However, there are no big surprises or game changers on the list.
What did Bungie reveal?
- The Nightfall Triumph for “The Terminus of Insight” will now be granted as intended when the required score is reached.
- The puzzles in the Lost Sectors for the Xenophage quest now work as intended.
- Heavy ammo no longer spawns below the Dreaming City Crucible map.
If you find an exotic engram at the Postmaster that turns out to be an enhancement core upon picking it up, according to Bungie, that is correct. Both items are represented similarly in the post.
The patch also brought a change for the new strike “The Praefectus.” According to Bungie, the popular save spot in the boss room is now not available anymore. Guardians are now supposed to face the challenge on a “balanced” battlefield:
Bungie is aware of these new issues but cannot fix them today:
- The Master Magazine mod does not grant bonus reserves for “Sola’s Shard.”
- A faulty quest node is displayed for the Praefectus Strike in step 5 of the “Trial of the Challenger VII.” Players must start the strike from the upper strike node to access the activity.
- Problems reported with Steam chat are still being investigated.
- Guardian Games class items from 2020 no longer reflect the placements from previous games.
- The public event “Aether Ritual” does not recognize participation in the event.
