In Destiny 2, maintenance works are taking place today, March 2nd, on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, as well as on PC and Google Stadia. After a server downtime, update 3.1.0.2 will be available, fixing some issues in the game. MeinMMO provides you with all the important times and changes regarding the hotfix.
What is happening today? Before the Guardians start a fresh Destiny week with the weekly reset in Season 13 tonight, the new update 3.1.0.2 needs to be downloaded. The hotfix comes with maintenance works and also involves a server downtime.
- The hotfix 3.1.0.2 is now live on all platforms. On PS5, the update is 284 MB in size.
To keep you updated, MeinMMO will refresh this article as soon as there are news. Here you will find the planned changes and the times when you need to take a mandatory break – fortunately, this is much shorter than in the last update. Later, we will have all patch notes for you.
Maintenance on March 2nd – Everything about the procedure and server downtime
These times are important today:
- Maintenance starts at 5 PM German time
- At 5:45 PM, the Destiny servers will go down. If you are still in the game, you will be kicked from all activities.
- From 6 PM, the servers will be back up and hotfix 3.1.0.2 will be available worldwide on all platforms.
- Once the update has been downloaded (and copied), you can log in and play Destiny 2.
- Maintenance will end at 7 PM if everything goes as planned.
Keep this in mind: It is quite possible that the indicated times may not be exact or there could be unexpected delays. We will report accordingly. As always, there may be login problems and queues until the end of maintenance (7 PM).
During maintenance on March 2nd, third-party applications or the official Companion app may not be available with all functionalities.
What changes does update 3.1.0.2 bring to Destiny 2 today?
Recently, the Trials of Osiris had to be canceled prematurely. A gap that enables massive win trading is said to be the reason – so many Guardians believe. However, Bungie announced today’s update earlier on February 25th with some planned changes (via TWaB).
These fixes have been announced: With the start of the new season of the Chosen, some issues have arisen. According to Bungie, these will be a thing of the past after the update:
- Barrier colossi in “Battleground: Colossus” will no longer break out of their barrier shields to say hello to unsuspecting Guardians.
- Beneficial modifiers in the battleground playlist now work as intended.
- Players can now focus Umbral engrams with the “Chosen Destruction” Umbral Engram focus lens.
There are still some important changes hiding in the patch notes:
- The melee attack of the Stasis Warlocks now deals 80 damage – like before the nerf
- The offensive NS reference on the war table has been removed: Bungie apologizes for banned Nazi keyword in Destiny 2
- The Sign mission now correctly grants top loot.
- The catalyst for the Exotic bow Ticuu’s Divination now also tracks progress on explosive kills.
This is what Bungie is known for: The Destiny devs also have quite a bit to say about the Sign mission: As well as the horror trip may be received by the Guardians, some issues still plague the quest:
- There are no champions in the Grandmaster Sign mission because Foe champions do not exist. This is now on Bungie’s list of known issues.
- If you have not yet earned the catalyst, you should attempt the “easier” variant of the higher difficulty as soon as possible: Best mission of Destiny 2 is now on extra hard – This is your reward
- Before starting the Sign mission, you should ensure that the quest “The Voice on the Other Side” is in your inventory. Otherwise, you can find it in the quest archive in the Tower (next to the Postmaster).
- If you survive the horror trip, you will need to wait until a timer starts counting down. If you manually leave the spaceship early, you will not receive quest progress.
A collection of all known issues can be found here at Bungie (via Bungie.net).
Patch Notes for update 3.1.0.2 for Destiny 2
What about the patch notes? We will only find out from the official patch notes whether there is more in the update than was announced. Here, Bungie lists all changes and fixes for you to read.
Until Bungie releases the German patch notes, we link the English change log here:
Do you think there is more in the update than was announced? What problems are bothering you the most at the moment and should be at the top of Bungie’s priority list?
By the way, there is also a problem that is currently causing players a lot of fun: Glitch makes Destiny 2 even more of an MMO – Allows raids with 12 people
