Today, on January 19th, Destiny 2 has received the new update 3.0.2 on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and S, as well as on PC and Google Stadia. The patch fixes numerous issues and includes a Hunter nerf. Read here everything about the maintenance work, the server downtime, and the patch notes.
This is happening today in Destiny 2: Alongside the traditional Weekly Reset, there is a new update as part of Season 12. Additionally, maintenance work and server downtime will occur today, so there will be a small forced break for guardians – although it should be short, if everything goes as planned.
By the way, the update is now live and is 323.2 MB on PS5.
MeinMMO guides you through the process along with relevant times and takes a look at the planned changes. This article will also be updated throughout the day, so you won’t miss anything important like the patch notes.
Maintenance on January 19th – Everything about the process and server downtime
These times are important today:
- Maintenance work starts on all platforms at 5:00 PM CET.
- At 5:30 PM, the downtime begins, and the Destiny servers go offline. All players will be removed from their respective activities and cannot log into Destiny 2.
- At 6:00 PM, the servers will be back online, and Bungie will begin releasing update 3.0.2 on all platforms and in all regions.
- Once you’ve downloaded (and it has been copied) the update, you can log back into Destiny 2 and start playing again.
- By 7:00 PM, the maintenance should be fully completed.
Keep in mind: Until the maintenance is completed at 7:00 PM, there may be queues or login issues. Also, third-party applications or the official companion app may not be usable at all or only with restrictions during this period.
What changes today in Destiny 2 with update 3.0.2?
This is what we know so far: Bungie has already given a first look at the upcoming changes and fixes ahead of today’s update.
Among other things, the following bugs will be fixed:
- The Hive bosses In Anânh, the Brood Queen, and Xillox were not counted as Hive boss kills within bounties.
- Some guardians were unable to re-enter combat if they died at the boss of the strike “The Twisted Tower”.
- On several Crucible maps, it was possible to leave the environment.
- Some quest items did not drop in the Moon Strike activity. This prevented the completion of several Essence quests.
- The perk “Unyielding” did not trigger health regeneration.
- The MIDA Multi-Tool Catalyst did not drop after victories in competitive PvP.
- Possessed Psions replicated too quickly in some “Prophecy Dungeon” encounters.
- Flawless “Garden of Salvation” completions did not grant the “Inherent Perfection” triumph.
- The High Celebrant sometimes took no damage or did not go into the Ascendant Realm.
- Players could exploit in the Deep Stone Crypt raid to benefit from “Refuge from the Storm” indefinitely.
- Hits with the exotic sniper Succession on the Godly dome were counted as two precision hits.
- The Nightfall timer was sometimes set to 30 minutes.
- The loading of Clan overviews was prevented on PlayStation 5.
Additionally, the Stasis Hunter is being nerfed. Further details can be found here: Bungie is bringing a heavy nerf to the class that has been dominating Destiny 2
However, this may not be all the changes that we can expect this evening. Further clarification will be provided by the patch notes.
Some even consider it possible that today’s update will finally introduce the ability to obtain the exotic hand cannon Hawkmoon with random rolls – possibly also in a new area.
