Destiny 2 is undergoing maintenance for the new update 2.9.2 this evening, September 8, on PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Google Stadia. Here’s everything about the maintenance schedule, server downtime, and patch notes.
What is the maintenance about? As part of the ongoing Season 11, Destiny is receiving a new update today – Update 2.9.2. Accordingly, Bungie is conducting several hours of maintenance, and there will be a server downtime – albeit just for a short time.
The update is now available and can be downloaded. On PS4, it has the version number 1.58 and is 424.3 MB in size.
With the Weekly Reset after the new update, the event “Solstice of Heroes” is ending today. Will the quest for the new exotic pistol “Chosen of the Traveler” finally start?
Maintenance on 08.09. – All about the process
Here are the important times:
- The maintenance starts today at 6:00 PM CEST.
- At 6:45 PM, the servers will go offline, and the downtime will begin. All players still in the game will be removed from ongoing activities and returned to the login screen.
- If everything goes smoothly, the server downtime will end at 7:00 PM and Bungie will begin the rollout of the new update 2.9.2.
- If you have downloaded (and copied) the new update, you can jump back into Destiny 2.
- The maintenance work is expected to be fully completed by 9:00 PM.
Please note: Until the final completion of the maintenance at 9:00 PM, there may be queues and login issues. Furthermore, there may also be disruptions to related apps and third-party services used in connection with Destiny 2.
What changes after Update 2.9.2 / 1.58?
What we already know: About two weeks ago, Bungie gave a first look at some changes that are supposed to arrive with today’s update.
Among other things, the following is included:
- a fix for the annoying freezes in Gambit
- the revision of the glow effect on the current event armor
- support for collectors on Mars
