Destiny 2 is undergoing maintenance today, July 7, on PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Google Stadia. This comes with a server downtime and the new update 2.9.1. Read here for everything about the process and the patch notes.
The new update is here: Destiny 2 is receiving a new update today that is supposed to fix numerous bugs. Additionally, July 7 traditionally marks Bungie Day, which could bring some surprises for the Season 11 .
Meanwhile, update 2.9.1 is available for all platforms. On PS4, it carries version number 1.55 and weighs 6.79 GB.
However, before that happens, you will face maintenance work and a forced break. MeinMMO provides you with all the important times and patch notes in this article.
This is how today’s maintenance will proceed
Today, the maintenance work will take longer than usual. However, the server downtime itself will be short.
These are the important times:
- Maintenance starts at 18:00 German time
- At 18:45, downtime begins – the Destiny servers will go offline. Players will be removed from their activities and returned to the login screen
- At 19:00, the servers will come back online and update 2.9.1 will be rolled out across all platforms. After loading the update (and the copying process), you can log back into Destiny 2
- At 01:00, the maintenance should be completely finished
As always: Until Bungie is finally done with the maintenance, there may be queues and login issues in Destiny 2. This time, the planned maintenance will take an unusually long 7 hours.
These changes come with update 2.9.1 in Destiny 2
This is known: Bungie has already revealed some of the content of update 2.9.1. MeinMMO has reported extensively on the planned fixes here.
The short list of the planned changes is as follows:
- Contact Event: Bosses should correctly count for the “Heavyweight” triumph and Guardians should only be able to carry the specified amount of particles
- Umbral Engrams: For the two pyramid weapons Falling Guillotine and Cold Denial, the focusing should work properly (this concerns the additional second perks)
- Falling Guillotine: A bug will be fixed, which allows the sword to deal more damage than intended
- Problems with catalysts: Newly revamped Seraph weapons now count towards the progress for the catalyst of the Exotic Sleeper Simulant
- Raid equipment: The armor from the raids Last Wish and Garden of Salvation will receive a higher infusion cap – This will keep them relevant for longer during sunsetting
- Weekly Vanguard bounties: The enemies to be defeated will be adjusted to the Season of Arrival
The complete list of all changes made will only be revealed in the patch notes.
After the update is successfully loaded, the Moments of Triumph for the year 2020 will also begin with the reset. Everything we already know about this can be found here:
