In Destiny 2, maintenance work is expected tonight on PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Google Stadia – including server downtime and a new hotfix – Update 2.9.0.2. Here’s everything you need to know about today’s schedule and the patch notes.
New hotfix coming today: The Season 11 is in full swing, and Bungie aims to address some annoying issues in Destiny 2 with a new hotfix. Therefore, you will need to take a brief enforced break tonight. Update 2.9.0.2 brings maintenance and a short downtime. Here’s the most important information about today’s schedule and patch.
The update is now available and can be downloaded. On PS4, it has the version number 1.54 and is about 187 MB in size.
This is how the maintenance will proceed today
Although the maintenance will take several hours today, if everything goes as planned, there should only be a brief server downtime.
These are the important times:
- Maintenance starts at 6:00 PM German time
- Downtime begins at 6:45 PM, and the Destiny servers will go offline. Players will be removed from their activities and returned to the login screen
- Downtime ends at 7:00 PM, and the release of Update 2.9.0.2 will then start on all platforms and in all regions. After you have downloaded the update (and it has been copied), you should be able to log back into Destiny 2
- Maintenance is expected to be completely finished by 11:00 PM
Keep in mind: Until Bungie is completely finished with maintenance (around 11:00 PM), there may be queues and login issues in Destiny 2.
What changes with Update 2.9.0.2 / 1.54 in Destiny 2?
What we already know: Prior to today’s patch, Bungie has already partially presented some of the changes from Update 2.9.0.2. The update addresses further annoying issues, such as with the new controller configuration or the too low power level of many rewards.
Here’s what you can expect in the new hotfix:
- Repairs to controller reconfiguration.
- A problem was fixed where double-tapping buttons sometimes did not trigger dodges or other abilities.
- Issues were addressed where weapons would not fire when pressing the trigger.
- A problem was fixed where Stormtrance sometimes did not work.
- A problem was fixed where the withering collector causes excessive damage to various bosses.
- A problem was fixed where completing the prophecy dungeon solo did not unlock the associated triumph.
- A problem was fixed where various sources dropped rewards at 750 power instead of the guardian’s power.
- A problem was fixed where the “Tommy’s matchbook” catalyst quest was removed from player inventories.
