In Destiny 2 Season 10 begins today. The new season comes with update 2.8.0, which you need to download on PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Google Stadia. Here you will find everything you need to know about the maintenance process, server downtime, and the patch notes.
Update (6:12 PM) – Known Issues at the Start of Season 10: Bungie has informed via Twitter that there are certain things to be aware of before logging in for the first time at the start of the season of Worthy.
This includes some minor issues with collecting items, but also:
- During the quest Authentication Protocol in the “Seraph Warmind Satellite” mission, players need to speak with Rasputin on Io.
- Some of the Seraph Bunkers have incorrect upgrade requirements. Here you can find the correct requirements.
- Changing the energy affinity on fully upgraded and modified armor incorrectly shows that it cannot be equipped. If this is the case, leave the inventory and call the menu again.
- On PC, there may be issues with purchases of the real money currency Silver or acquiring the Season Pass.
What you need to know for today’s update: This evening, on March 10, Season 9 ends and Season 10, the season of Worthy, begins. This means for you that new content, activities, and an update in Destiny 2 are coming.
The new update is labeled 2.8.0 and must be downloaded first to start Season 10. We will inform you about the maintenance process and update the post so you are always up to date.
Meanwhile, the update is available. On PlayStation 4, it is 4.98 GB in size and carries version number 1.47.
Today’s Maintenance Schedule
The following times are important today: Today, you should expect extended maintenance work. In addition, the Destiny servers will go offline in the meantime.
Here is the planned schedule for the maintenance:
- At 4:00 PM German time, maintenance will begin.
- At 4:45 PM, all Guardians will be removed from their activities, and the servers will go offline.
- At 5:00 PM, update 2.8.0 will be made available on all platforms and in all regions. Players can log back into Destiny 2 starting at 6:01 PM.
- At 6:01 PM, Destiny 2 is back online on all platforms; the season of Worthy begins.
- By 8:00 PM, the maintenance should be completed.
Keep in mind that the stated times are not set in stone and there may be delays.

What Changes With Update 2.8.0 / 1.47 Today?
This is what’s new in the update: The planned changes are quite extensive. While Bungie has not yet announced all the information for the new season 10, numerous adjustments have already been presented in recent weeks.
These are the most important changes that we currently know:
- The Trials are finally returning in Season 10

- Numerous exotic armors will be revamped
- Bungie improves Armor 2.0
- Your most powerful abilities will be adjusted
- Load times and performance issues are set to improve
Additionally, Bungie aims to address several minor issues with the update. Thus, with the start of the season of Worthy, these issues will be resolved:
- The Hunter melee ability “Stormstrike” can now be performed when using PC controls where sprint is set to “Hold”.
- Ranged melee abilities from character focuses now count for melee kill bounties and triumphs. This includes Titan’s Hammer Throw, throwing knives, as well as Hunter’s Withering Smoke Bombs and Warlocks’ Celestial Fire and Ball Lightning.
- The Triumph “Challenging Miser” now displays the correct progress and completion for players who found all 30 Ascendant chests during the three curse weeks in the Dreaming City and accepted all corresponding triumphs.
- Weekly strike bounties for Hive and Vex boss kills now grant progress to players for eliminating Savathûn’s Song, Xol, and Dendron, the Origin Spirit
