With a 2-day delay, the new hotfix 2.7.0.2 for PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Google Stadia was deployed today, January 16th, in Destiny 2. There are maintenance works and a short downtime. What is today’s Destiny 2 update about? The update 2.7.0.2 for Destiny 2 was supposed to be released on Tuesday, January 14th. However, shortly before the release, Bungie announced that the new hotfix was delayed.
No specific reasons were given. It was simply stated “due to a problem.” No new date for the update was provided for the time being.
Now the studio has announced that the new patch will be delivered today, January 16th. There will be maintenance, and during this time, the Destiny 2 servers will be offline for a while.
In the meantime, the update is online and can be downloaded in-game (before logging in). On PS4, it is 10.61 MB in size.
These times are important today: The maintenance will take place a bit later than usual today. Here is the official schedule for January 16th:
- Maintenance begins at 21:00 CET. Some features of Bungie.net, the official companion app and third-party services like Ishtar Commander will no longer be available.
- At 21:45, the Destiny 2 servers will go down.
- At 22:00, the servers will come back online and the release of update 2.7.0.2 will begin on all platforms.
- The planned end of maintenance is set for 23:00. The API functions should be available again now.
Keep in mind that login issues may still occur until the maintenance is finally completed.
What changes with update 2.7.0.2 in Destiny 2?
The new hotfix is expected to address some known issues in Destiny 2 according to Bungie:
- The constantly flashing icon of Tess’ Eververse in the Tower should be fixed. It flashes even when you have nothing to do or pick up there.
- The bugged obelisk in the EDZ should finally be fixed. Many Guardians still cannot interact with the object without issues.
Moreover, it is assumed that Bungie will adjust the currently overpowered exotic bow Wishender. This one currently deals too high damage – this was not intended.
Keep in mind, these are probably not all the contents of today’s update.
