Tonight, several new contents await the Guardians in Destiny 2. However, there will be a new update that needs to be downloaded before you can dive into the new content. Here are the details.
Update:
- 5:10 PM: Update 2.6.1 is already available for download. On PlayStation 4, it is about 1.2 GB in size and has version number 1.43
- 6:00 PM: The patch notes are already available, but the servers are not yet
- 6:14 PM: The servers are back online, at least on PS4.
These are the important times for today: The update will be accompanied by maintenance, and the Destiny servers will go offline for some time. Here is the official schedule for October 29:
- The maintenance starts at 4:00 PM CET.
- At 4:50 PM, the servers will go offline, and all players will be removed from their activities. Some features of Bungie.net, the official companion app, and third-party services will be unavailable.
- At 6:00 PM, the Destiny servers are expected to come back online. The release of update 2.6.1 begins on all platforms. There may still be login issues until the maintenance is completed.
- At 7:00 PM, the maintenance is expected to be finished if everything goes according to plan.
Keep in mind that the times on the official Bungie site are shifted by one hour. However, the recent change to standard time has not yet been accounted for there and refers to Central European Summer Time. Thus, the information in this article should be correct.
What is changing today with update 2.6.1 / 1.43 in Destiny 2?
First of all, the update brings new content to the game. So after that
- a new dungeon
- the Halloween event Festival of the Lost
- as well as a new exotic quest for the machine gun Xenophage
will be launched.
Moreover, there are also fixes for some game issues. Here is what we know so far:
- Issues related to the quest for the exotic sniper Izanagi’s Burden will be fixed.
- Numerous problems related to the Black Armory forges will be fixed.
- A problem will be fixed where the “Exodus Black” destination quest could not be resumed after leaving.
- A problem will be fixed where some players could not earn the triumph “Silimar’s Creation”. This will now be retroactively unlocked if you have already earned it but have not received it yet.
- Daily bounties from Eris Morn and the bounties table should now appear correctly and no longer rotate weekly.
- Increased load times when previewing gear while traveling from one destination to another will be fixed.
