Tonight, on April 11th, the hotfix 2.2.1.1 for Destiny 2 has been released. But what is in the new patch? Here you will find everything about the maintenance work, the server downtime and the patch notes.
The update is now live and can be downloaded. Just restart the game; the update should automatically install in-game before the character selection menu. It is approximately 4.80 MB on PS4.
Why another update? Just last Tuesday, the Update 2.2.1. for Destiny 2 was released. However, not all issues were resolved, and additional annoying bugs have crept into the game. The developers at Bungie now want to eliminate the most pressing of these issues with a hotfix.
The following changes come with hotfix 2.2.1.1 for Destiny 2
These changes are already known: On Twitter, Bungie mentions three issues that they want to tackle with the new patch:
- The rewards for the pinnacle weapon quests of Season 6 are to be reactivated. These were recently removed from the game due to a severe exploit.
- The bonus perks on the Guardian set from Gambit Prime are to be reactivated as well. These were recently turned off due to a bug.
- The wave splitter is to be disabled on PC and Xbox One. This PS4-exclusive weapon was recently unintentionally made available on the other platforms.
It is currently unknown whether any further changes will be made during today’s update. The patch notes should provide clarity regarding this.
Destiny 2: All about maintenance, downtime and server downtimes on April 11th.
Despite maintenance work accompanying the update, there should be no downtime today. The servers will not go offline if everything goes as planned. So you’ll only have to briefly part ways with Destiny until you can dive back into the fight.
This is how the maintenance will proceed on April 11th:
7:00 PM:
- Estimated start of maintenance work
7:45 PM:
- Some functions of the companion app may be restricted on the web, on mobile devices, and with third-party services.
8:00 PM:
- Hotfix 2.2.1.1 will be released on all platforms and in all regions
10:45 PM:
- All players who have not installed the hotfix by now will be removed from their activities and sent to the login screen
11:00 PM:
- Estimated end of maintenance work
- The functions of the companion app should be available to you again in full
