Today, October 16, 2018, update 2.0.4 for Destiny 2 has been released. The patch brings some improvements to the game and launches the Festival of the Lost. We have summarized all important information regarding the content, maintenance work, patch notes, and downtime for you.
Destiny 2 is getting two updates in one month in October. The first one, update 2.0.4, arrived today, October 16, 2018. The update is approximately 1,468 MB on PS4 and about 1,920 MB on Xbox One, carrying version number 1.27. Update 2.0.4 is a typical event update that brings some comfort improvements, bug fixes, and minor adjustments for Destiny 2: Forsaken.

These are the main known contents of the patch:
- The seasonal Halloween event “Festival of the Lost” returns
- The drop variety is expected to improve – there will be more drops than only “Rand Transit” – “Through Fire and Flood”, “Zenobia D”, and “Slate Reaver-4fr” will be added to the world pool
- On the map, you will be able to see which Lost Sector is waiting for you once you have looted it
- Players can track up to three different quests
- Scout rifles are expected to become stronger in PvE
- Bug fixes
A final list of all changes will be available in the patch notes once they are published. Please note that update 2.0.4 is mandatory to participate in the Festival of the Lost after the weekly reset at 7 PM.
Destiny 2: Maintenance, Downtime, Server Downtime on 16.10.
As soon as update 2.0.4 is available for download and installation, maintenance work will also be carried out today, Tuesday, October 16, 2018.

However, except in emergencies, no downtime is expected. This means there is no server downtime. You will only need to interrupt your gaming experience to download and install the new update. After that, you should be able to continue playing normally.
Schedule of the maintenance work:
4:00 PM:
- Expected start of maintenance work
- Downtimes of Destiny services are not expected
- Some features of the Destiny companion will not be available on the web, mobile, and third-party apps
- Update 2.0.4 will be made available on all platforms and in all regions
6:45 PM:
- All Destiny 2 players who are still in in-game activities and have not yet installed update 2.0.4 will be removed from the corresponding activities and brought back to the login screen to install the update
7:00 PM:
- Expected end of Destiny 2 maintenance work
- The Destiny companion functions will be fully reactivated

Iron Banner and Festival of the Lost start today after update 2.0.4
After downloading and installing update 2.0.4, the Halloween event Festival of the Lost and the Iron Banner will start with today’s weekly reset. The Iron Banner comes with some improvements that Bungie wants to implement after fan feedback.
