The Bergusia Forge in Destiny 2 has been opened, despite the Guardians having spent nearly 30 hours tackling the puzzles in the Niobe Labs so far. The right decision? Or should Bungie have kept the entire game locked for longer?
What is it about? The last forge of the Destiny 2 expansion “Black Armory” was tied to a puzzle. Whoever solves this puzzle unlocks the Bergusia Forge for all Guardians. It all started with the Weekly Reset on Tuesday at 6 PM. However, players were unable to solve the puzzle until Wednesday evening.
A failed experiment: Bungie stated that they wanted to try something new. An event that involves the entire community and allows everyone to guess. After nearly 30 hours with no one able to solve the Niobe Labs puzzle, Bungie ultimately gave in and opened the Bergusia Forge for all.

This action has sparked controversial discussions. While the puzzle can still be solved for a corresponding reward (ship and emblem), it is not relevant for the Bergusia Forge.
This is the criticism of Bungie’s approach: Some players express confusion that Bungie simply unlocked the forge.
- This would devalue the hours of work done by Gladd and other streamers. Bungie could have introduced smaller hints before fully “devaluing” the puzzle.
- Bungie has given in to part of the community which demanded the unlocking of the forge and thus is “buckling under pressure”.

This is what supporters of Bungie’s approach say: Other players are relieved that the guessing game is over and that the last forge can finally be played.
- In their opinion, the puzzles were far too difficult. There were no hints for levels 6 and 7 that logically led to the solution.
- Additionally, the fact that the mission to unlock had no checkpoints unnecessarily prolonged the process.
- Some players felt locked out of content they had already paid for.
- Although the event was intended for the entire community, the puzzle has mainly become a promotional action for Twitch and a few streamers.

In the meantime, Community Manager Cozmo also asked the Guardians for feedback on Reddit, and that’s exactly what we want to do at MeinMMO as well.
