The next expansion for Destiny 2 starts on December 4: the Black Armory. We want to know from you: Will you be there? Or have you not even bought the annual pass needed for it?
It starts next week: Players will be able to explore the Black Armory and grab new loot already at the weekly reset on December 4.
The new content starts almost exactly three months after the major expansion Forsaken, which tells the story of Uldren Sov and the escaped Barons. But how does it continue?
What can players look forward to with the Black Armory? In addition to a presumed sandbox update, which will fix bugs and rebalance weapons, buyers of the annual pass will receive the following content:
- Access to the Black Armory
- New activity Forge of the Chain
- New raid sector
- New exotic gear
- New legendary weapons
- Quests, triumphs, and collections
How to access the Black Armory: If you want to play the new content, you will have to get the annual pass. It costs 30 euros and includes the playable content “Black Armory”, “The Joker’s Wildcard” and “Penumbra”, which will be released over the next 9 months.
It will probably not be possible to purchase the DLCs separately.

For me, the expansion is coming almost too early: I don’t know how you feel, but I still haven’t completed everything that Destiny 2: Forsaken has to offer. The Wanderer title is the goal, but it’s still far away.
I have also only brought one class to the level cap of 600. So a new expansion comes almost “too early”. Others, however, have already completed all three classes and may have already achieved one or the other title.
Bungie is taking new paths with the annual pass: The annual pass content will differ from expansions like “Curse of Osiris” and “Warmind”.
Not all content will be released at once; rather, Bungie will serve the new content in doses to give even dedicated players a reason to regularly check back in Destiny 2.
Guardians already received an initial taste of this practice with the questline that culminated in the Thunderlord. Even though the quest was, in my opinion, not convincingly executed, I find the approach refreshing.
The curse cycle of the dreaming city also shows that Bungie wants to keep players returning.
I am looking forward to the Black Armory! New exotic gear brings life to the game (if you can find it), and the armory itself promises excitement and fun. I am particularly curious about which weapon is behind the weapon with the sword drawing.
Because it will deal more closely with one of the most exciting figures in the Destiny universe: the Drifter. The builder of the service breach has some secrets that need to be uncovered!
