In Destiny 2, the Trials of the Nine start today, on October 13. What map will be played, and what is the mode?
If you’ve had enough fun in Iron Banner and are looking for a tougher PvP challenge, you can attempt the Trials of the Nine starting today.
The Trials begin on October 13 at 7 PM and last until October 17 at 11 AM. The mode is Countdown and the map is Downtown.
What are the Trials of the Nine with the Countdown mode?
This time, you will fight in the Trials in the “Countdown” mode. It is a round-based and objective-based PvP mode.
You compete against each other in teams of four, with each round swapping the offensive and defensive roles between the teams:
- If you are the offensive team, you must plant a bomb at one of two possible locations and defend it until it detonates.
- If you are the defensive team, you must prevent a bomb from being planted or defuse the bomb in time.
The team that successfully executes its role wins a round. You can also win a round by completely defeating the opposing team. A limited number of revives by team members is available. The team that wins 6 rounds first wins the match.
After each match, you will receive “Trials of the Nine” tokens that you can exchange for Trials engrams with the emissary. Additionally, you will receive extra rewards after 3, 5, and 7 match victories. If you achieve a flawless run (7 wins without a loss), you can claim an extra bonus. If you have 3 match losses on the ticket, you must start over.
In the Trials of the Nine, there is no matchmaking. You must assemble your team of 4 players yourself. Furthermore, it is a “locked-loadout playlist.” This means you cannot change your weapons and armor pieces until you leave the playlist.
