It’s about this enemy: Recently, a new enemy has been spreading fear and terror in Destiny 2. The encounters with him can only be survived with luck, because there is really nothing you can do against him.
If you hear him or, worse, if you see him, it is often already too late, and it means certain death. It’s about Tr3-VR, a kind of … – no idea what it’s supposed to be. Some kind of rampaging janitor robot, shredder or mulcher. In any case, a really nasty killer machine.
Where do you encounter Tr3-VR? If you have earned the new exotic pulse rifle Perfected Outbreak, you are guaranteed to have had the pleasure. Those who are currently trying to earn the weapon or plan to do so will also have to get acquainted with Trevor, as the community has dubbed him.
Because during the mission “The Hour Zero”, you will inevitably encounter this killer robot in a passage of the Tower.
What is so nasty about Tr3vor? In the corresponding mission passage, you run like a little hamster through the corridors of a small maze. There you have to activate four switches to open the exit and get to the next area. It sounds easy and straightforward, but Trevor is the catch.
This killer shredder hunts down everyone looking for a way out of the maze. He appears at seemingly random spots and then moves through the narrow corridors.
If you see a flickering red light accompanied by a metallic noise that is getting closer, there is only one thing left to do – run! Because weapons cannot harm Tr3-VR. Also, he cannot be turned off.
If you hesitate, it usually means certain death (unless he unexpectedly turns away). But even if you run, the chance of being caught by the terrifying shredder is high.
Your only chance is small openings where you can hide from Trevor or the hope that the robot does not take the same turn that you are taking in your escape from the unstoppable machine.
How the fans react: Many Guardians hate Trevor. Sometimes, you can get through the maze without any problems. But often the janitor robot causes a lot of frustration, hate tirades, and torn apart teams. Because if you die in the maze due to Trevor, you have to redo the entire passage – unless you get revived.
Numerous Guardians report that Trevor seems to have a personal vendetta against them. After every respawn, they are constantly hunted down and torn apart by the machine – no matter which way they take and how they try to avoid him.
It is often the worst when you are almost at the open exit and are surprised by Trevor in the final centimeters. Or when two of you are waiting by the exit door and at the last second before the saving opening, this killer machine comes around the corner.
But Trevor also brings many fun moments to many Guardians and has already inspired countless memes and videos dedicated to him. He has now reached a kind of small cult status among some fans.
Some think that with his unpredictable mechanics, his terrible sound, and the claustrophobic atmosphere in the narrow corridors, he is one of, if not the coolest and nastiest enemy in all of Destiny 2. Many report chilling moments – especially during their first encounters with this killer robot.
If other team members continue, it may happen that you get stuck in this passage for 10 or 15 minutes and thus arrive too late or not at all for the boss fight.
