With Season 6 of Destiny 2, a new Gambit mode is also coming. A new trailer shows what to expect from Gambit Prime.
What is Gambit Prime? Gambit Prime is an evolution of the Gambit mode, which came with the Forsaken expansion of Destiny 2. In Prime, only an intense round is played, and the ancient one is much stronger. Additionally, players will choose one of four roles defined by specific perks and armor.
What does the trailer show? The Gambit Prime trailer showcases the new armors in action and explains which roles they fulfill:
The Reaper is responsible for eliminating large enemy groups and powerful foes. His perks are:
- Weaknesses of powerful enemies
- Multi-kills generate special ammo
- Particles last longer
- Eliminating powerful enemies increases grenade regeneration
The Collector is the Guardian responsible for collecting particles and sending blockers. His perks are:
- Upon his death, he drops his particles
- He receives an overshield through particles
- Generates ammo when he drops particles
- Can send a gigantic blocker with 20 particles
The Guardian protects their own bank and eliminates intruders. His perks are:
- Multi-kills increase damage against the Taken
- His bank regenerates health
- Intruders are marked for his team
- Team members in the “Well of Light” are empowered. What this entails is still unknown.
The Invader hunts enemies in the enemy arena and steals their particles.
- He generates ammo when he enters the enemy arena
- He has a stronger overshield during the invasion
- He receives bonus damage when eliminating enemy Guardians
- He can prevent particles from being collected while he is in the enemy arena. Moreover, he deducts already collected particles during the invasion.
When does Gambit Prime come? The new mode will be available with Season 6 on March 5. However, it is only for owners of Forsaken and the Destiny 2 Season Pass.
