How did he come up with the idea? In a new Destiny update 3.3.0 from a week ago, the ability “Throwing Hammer” was adjusted for the Hammer Titan: It now deals about “50% more damage” to “powerful PvE enemies”.
The relatively small YouTuber “VoteforShifu” saw this and developed a method to melt bosses and enemies away in seconds:

The Titan gauntlets “Wormgod Caress” have the ability to increase melee damage by achieving melee kills. With 5 stacks of this buff, damage increases to 160,000. That’s a factor of 7.5.
