In Destiny 2, there is a lot going on this week. Some things are already confirmed, while others are still speculative. Let’s take a look at what you can expect starting from the Weekly Reset.
This week has a lot to offer: Currently, the first Iron Banner of Season 11 is still running. Until the Weekly Reset on July 7th, Guardians still have time to earn
- Top-tier gear
- Weapons with new, event-specific perks and refreshed expiration dates
- Returning armors
- or enhanced mods for their builds
to earn. So make use of the time if you still need anything from it.
However, just as the Iron Banner ends on Tuesday, and the new Destiny week officially begins with the reset, things could get exciting. What can we expect?
What we already know
New update: Before the Weekly Reset on June 7th, there will be maintenance, and a new patch will be applied to Destiny 2 – Update 2.9.1.
Bungie stated that they aim to fix several bugs that Guardians are experiencing. Among them are issues related to the new contact event or problems with some new weapons. A damage bug with the currently very dominant sword Falling Guillotine is also set to be fixed, and it will be interesting to see how it performs after the “nerf”.

Moments of Triumph: Although Bungie has not revealed any official details yet, on July 7th, the Moments of Triumph are expected to launch in Destiny 2 according to the roadmap.
With these so-called Moments of Triumph, the studio traditionally looks back on the outgoing Destiny year together with the Guardians and celebrates the heroic deeds accomplished during that time.
In short: You are tasked with completing certain challenges across all of Destiny 2 that relate to the last Destiny year. And you can earn some cool rewards while doing so.

Bungie Day: July 7th also traditionally marks the annual Bungie Day. This special day celebrates Bungie and its community. Initially started as a small, unofficial celebration, this festivity has been held for over 10 years and has become a true, official event.
Typically, there are special promotions, chances to win something, and sometimes even tidbits of information about upcoming content. It will be exciting to see if Bungie might surprise us with something special.
What could come
New Exotic Quest: Although it is not official yet, the likelihood is very high that a new exotic quest will be released this week – specifically for the new weapon exotic Withered Image.
It is expected that the corresponding quest will start after the reset on July 7th – coinciding with the start of the Moments of Triumph 2020. According to data entries, the ornament for Withered Image will be available in Eververse on July 7th. Such ornaments have always gone live on the same day that the corresponding exotic weapon or related quest became available in the game.
