As the upcoming 2nd DLC for Destiny 2 also marks the beginning of Season 3 in the game, PvP players have something to do again. Not only are there two leaderboards where Guardians can earn points and level up – for the busiest bees, there is also a special pulse rifle to be obtained with Redrix’s Claymore.
Alongside the upcoming DLC “Warmind”, Season 3 begins in Destiny 2. This marks the kickoff for a feature that particularly PvP-oriented Guardians have been wishing for: leaderboards are making their entrance into the Crucible.
- Valor – Points for this list are earned from all Crucible matches
- Glory – This list is reserved for the competitive playlist in the Crucible
While new items can be earned as rewards in both leaderboards, a special new weapon is exclusive to the Competitive playlist and thus the Glory leaderboard.

Redrix’s Claymore: The hardest weapon to obtain
Redrix’s Claymore is a legendary pulse rifle equipped with the unique and powerful perk “Desperado”. This increases the fire rate of the weapon after reloading while the “Outlaw” perk is active. Meanwhile, the weapon fires like a rapid-fire pulse rifle for 7 seconds but retains the damage of a high-impact rifle.
This is how the new weapon looks and how the “Desperado” perk works, as demonstrated here by Gigz:
How much time you need to invest for the Redrix’s Claymore
To obtain the weapon, you must reach the fourth of a total of six ranks in the Glory leaderboard of the Competitive playlist during the upcoming third season. And this is by no means a walk in the park: To reach the highest rank Legendary, you must have 5,500 points on the leaderboard.
For the Famous rank, from which the weapon becomes available, you need fewer points, but it should still be quite a grind. According to Gigz, you would need to spend 26 days with six hours each day in the Crucible to reach the Legendary rank, and that’s only if you win every game.
Players who reach the highest rank of the Glory leaderboard receive additional unique rewards, such as a special ornament for the Redrix’s Claymore.
Will you take on the hunt for the Redrix’s Claymore or do you have no interest in the upcoming ranking system in Destiny 2?
