Destiny 2 has given its guardians a practical loadout system for their builds. However, since Season 22, access to it is no longer possible. Not even if you have reached the necessary guardian rank. MeinMMO will tell you why.
Which system has now been locked? With the “Lightfall” DLC, a new loadout system for builds in Destiny 2 was integrated in February 2023. And after this system was in the game, no one wanted to miss it anymore.

- It is also possible to change builds repeatedly, making guardians flexible.
In each new season, this system is initially not immediately available. You must first increase your guardian rank to regain access to the full 10 slots.
However, in Season 22, this is also not possible, as Bungie had to send its guardians back to the “stone age” due to a problem with the loadout function. MeinMMO will tell you what’s going on and how you can help yourself.
Loadout slots caused a groundbreaking error
This was the reason for the deactivation: As Bungie announced shortly before the start of the new Season 22, on August 22, the loadout feature was deactivated due to a problem in Destiny 2.
Due to a problem, we have temporarily deactivated the loadouts feature. This will be displayed in the game as loadouts locked behind guardian ranks. All existing loadouts will be saved and available to all players who have already unlocked them as soon as a fix can be provided.

The exact reason for the blocking is not revealed in the message.
However, it was a groundbreaking error that allowed players to crash entire lobbies with just a few clicks in their loadouts. Some ornaments are believed to be the cause of this error.
How this glitch exactly worked was demonstrated by YouTuber Cheese Forever on August 21 in a video. A day later, Bungie reacted and locked the loadouts for all guardians until a solution can be provided for the problem.
These are the alternatives: Currently, the best help can be obtained through the third-party app “Destiny Item Manager“. It also offers a loadout feature that still works.
When will the loadout slots feature be available again? This is currently still uncertain. However, Bungie has released an update and mentioned a timeframe for the fix, which will have restrictions.
A temporary solution for the reactivation of loadouts is expected to be released next week (in Update 7.2.0.2 on August 29). This temporary solution will not retrieve any items from your vault. A permanent fix is currently being tested and is expected to go live in a future version.

The solution is not ideal. But it’s better than having no access to loadouts at all, especially as the race for Worlds First in the free Crota’s End Raid approaches.
