Ahead of the upcoming Forsaken expansion for Destiny 2, Bungie showcases more video footage of the autumn addon. This time you can watch a complete round of the new competitive PvP mode Breakthrough.

New details about the upcoming PvP mode: In the current article from Game Informer, which exclusively covers the upcoming Forsaken addon for a month, Bungie shows fans a whole round from the new PvP mode Breakthrough, which will expand the Crucible in Destiny 2 as part of the major autumn expansion. The game takes place on the new map Peak.
What is Breakthrough? It is an upcoming Crucible mode that represents a kind of modified version of Control. The new mode is designed for two teams of 4 and offers objective-based gameplay.
At the start of each round, two teams attempt to capture the Breaker. This then allows them to hack the opposing Vault. Once the middle Breaker is captured, it cannot be reclaimed by the opponent in that round. One team thus goes into defense. The attackers must capture the opposing Vault before time runs out to win the round. Otherwise, the defenders win.
The role distribution set from capturing the Breaker into attackers and defenders will not change in that respective round.
