Rank 3: Anarchy
Anarchy is a grenade launcher for the power slot, used by a proud 5.01% of Guardians. This weapon from Season 5 is responsible for 3.34% of enemy deaths.
Why is the weapon so popular? Anarchy does not fire classic grenades, but sticky mines. Similar to Witherhoard, these deal damage over time. Instead of nasty poison, these deliver Arc electrical shocks.
- You can set traps on the ground,
- or chain multiple mines together, creating a field of damage.
- Anarchy is feared by the strongest enemies because Guardians shoot two shock grenades directly at the boss, then switch their weapons and deal damage with two guns.
Since Beyond Light, the exotic can be conveniently purchased at the kiosk. For those who were unlucky in previous raids, Anarchy can now be targeted – but it will cost you very expensive resources.
Rank 2: Xenophage
The slightly different machine gun Xenophage secures the silver medal with a usage rate of 5.74%. However, due to the massive shots from the “Shadowkeep” weapon, “only” 1.46% of PvE enemies fall.
Why is the weapon so popular? Xenophage has a tumultuous history:
- Upon release, Guardians wondered if the weapon was just bad or broken.
- Over time, Bungie granted the MG several buffs and the exotic sandbox changed overall.
- Eventually, experts had to admit: the formerly weakest exotic is now a brutal boss killer.
Unlike all other MGs, Xenophage fires very slowly and has only 13 rounds in the magazine. However, each shot deals extremely high damage, explodes, and has virtually infinite range. Not to mention that the exotic does not need to land crits to deal maximum damage. All of this ensures that Xenophage excels in every PvE area, thinning out hordes or delivering the full package to bosses with a small crit spot.
Anyone wanting to obtain the weapon powered by a nasty alien bug will face a long questline, but the MG is guaranteed: Destiny 2: How to get the MG Xenophage – The exotic quest guide
Rank 1: The Lament
The sword The Lament holds the first place by a wide margin: 11.1% of Guardians equip the monster in the power slot. An astonishing 6.4% of all kills are attributed to this new blade weapon from Beyond Light.
Why is the weapon so popular? Since its revision, every Guardian should think: “take a sword with you!” The melee weapons deal immense damage and never need to reload (though they still require ammo).
The Lament is practically the crowning achievement of popular swords:
- No other weapon deals so much damage continuously.
- Every second kill gives you valuable ammo back.
- Hits with the blade heal the wielder – allowing for continuous slashing.
- With “Banshee’s Wail,” the blade ignites, leading to more damage and a new move set. Now you can use stylish jumps as finishers.
- The weapon even breaks shields and the defenses of barrier champions.
For all Guardians who have Beyond Light, The Lament can be obtained through a longer quest that is not too difficult. However, to get the most out of the exotic sword, you need to know the right combos:
The exotic is the most used weapon in the whole game and beats its legendary challengers, the raid shotgun (9.5%) and Falling Guillotine (7.6%). However, the legendary sword has more kills, accounting for 7.3% of all kills.
