Here’s what it’s about: In Destiny 2, players have been able to use a total of 77 special weapon exotics since Beyond Light and Season of the Hunt. Only one exotic can be used from the exotics while the other two slots must be filled with legendary weapons. So players need to choose wisely what they want to sacrifice the exotic slot for.

Rank 10: Hawkmoon
The kinetic hand cannon Hawkmoon from Season 12 is equipped by 0.33% of all Guardians. The stylish revolver is responsible for 0.28% of all kills in PvE.
Why is the weapon so popular? The exotic classic just returned to Destiny 2 with the current season. Hardly any other primary weapon can deal as much damage and looks so good. Additionally, Hawkmoon is guaranteed to be obtainable through a quest.
In the future, usage could increase significantly because Hawkmoon will soon be available with random rolls – something no other exotic can offer.

Rank 9: Divinity
Divinity is a trace rifle from Shadowkeep that is used by 0.36% of players in the special slot. However, the kill count is quite low, with only 0.04% of all deaths attributable to Divinity.
Why is the weapon so popular? Divinity is indispensable in the endgame. The trace rifle is likely the best team weapon.
- It increases the damage of the entire fireteam.
- And creates a field through fire that makes landing significant critical hits much easier.
- The massive magazine of 194 rounds ensures sustained fire.
- Additionally, the weapon can disrupt Overload champions by itself.

Rank 8: Eyes of Tomorrow
The “Beyond Light” rocket launcher Eyes of Tomorrow is constantly carried by 0.47% of Guardians. With its homing warheads, it catapults 0.23% of all enemies into the virtual afterlife.
Why is the weapon so popular? Eyes of Tomorrow is one of the strongest weapons in the entire game. It is considered the first legitimate successor to the Gjallarhorn from Destiny 1.
- Six rockets launch at once with each shot.
- You can target your enemies, and the warheads aggressively track them.
- If you eliminate at least four enemies this way, the damage of the next salvo increases massively.
- This resulting damage is surpassed by very few weapons.
The usage rate is only at rank 8 because the exotic is a random drop from the new raid in the Deep Stone Crypt (from the final boss).
