In a short while, Destiny 2 will receive the new update 2.5.2. This patch will address numerous issues and bugs that have been plaguing Guardians for some time. What is changing?
This update is about: Next Tuesday, July 30, the new update 2.5.2 will be released. This patch will not only bring the new summer event, Solstice of Heroes, to the game but will also tackle some annoying problems that Destiny 2 is currently facing.
What’s changing in Destiny 2 with update 2.5.2
Where is the information coming from? In the recent “This Week at Bungie” blog, Bungie revealed the changes players can expect next Tuesday. They have only presented a few highlights, and there will be more changes coming. However, these will only be published in the respective patch notes on the day of the update.
Lord of Wolves will be adjusted: The exotic shotgun Lord of Wolves is currently terrorizing the Crucible on PC. This will soon come to an end as the weapon will be adjusted by Bungie:
- The amount of ammunition granted by the respective looter perks while the exotic perk “Release the Wolves” is active will be reduced.
- The effective range of the weapon will be reduced.
- When “Release the Wolves” is active, the range will be further curtailed.
By the way: Lord of Wolves will not only be nerfed due to its terror reign but will also be honored: This is how Destiny 2 wants to honor a weapon that terrorizes PvP
Eisenbanner grind for the armor quest will be easier: Since the start of Season 7, set pieces of the new Iron Banner armor have to be obtained through a quest. However, many Guardians felt that this was too grind-heavy, and some steps were artificially prolonged. Many fans were annoyed by this new quest.
As announced by Bungie, the requirements for some steps of this quest will be adjusted for future Iron Banner events, such as:
- The number of required grenade kills will be reduced by 50%. Grenade kills by allies count just as much as your own. Many Guardians believe this is one of the most annoying steps ever.
- The number of required sword kills will be reduced, and sword kills by allies count just as much as your own.
Penalty for cheating in the Bad Juju quest is coming: Not everyone has earned the Exotic weapon Bad Juju from Season 7 honestly. Some Guardians have cheated in this quest and taken shortcuts on the necessary tributes. Bungie will now take action against this.
How – you can find out here: Cheated for the Bad Juju quest? Here’s what the penalty looks like
And this is how you can get Bad Juju normally: Bad Juju is back – Here’s how to get the new exotic weapon
An annoying triumph for the tribute hall will be adjusted: There was long confusion about how to earn two tributes.
Finally, Bungie explained that they can only be earned by playing a weapons and armor loadout that consists of specific Calus items, meaning it exclusively comes from the following activities:
- Leviathan Raid
- Taken King Raid Zone
- Starfire Protocol Raid Zone
- The Menagerie (Opulent set pieces for armor)
- “Crown of Sorrows” Raid
Bungie is soon making life easier for Guardians. Here’s what’s changing for these tributes:
- The tributes “Gladiator of the Emperor” (Earn Valor in the Crucible) and “Rogue in Uniform” (Earn Infamy in Gambit) no longer require a full Calus gear loadout to make progress.
- Players will now earn more progress, just like with other tributes, the more Calus items they equip.
Sword drops in the Menagerie will be adjusted: For some players, the new class swords from the Menagerie were a mystery. They are reserved for the heroic mode of this activity. While many received them right away upon their first heroic completion, others haven’t seen them at all. This is set to change as follows:
- On the very first successful run of the heroic mode in the Menagerie, the corresponding class sword will drop with 100% probability.
- In all subsequent successful runs, you will have a 25% chance of receiving a sword.
Annoying performance issues will be fixed: Destiny 2 has been facing performance issues for some time. These should now be resolved with the new update.
- For example, the extremely annoying issue where players could not spawn during a Crucible match will be fixed.
- Notifications about successfully completed bounties and quests should also be displayed correctly again.
What do you think about these changes? Is there any urgent issue in Destiny 2 in your view that needs addressing? Keep in mind that this is just a sample selection and not a complete list of all changes.
