In Destiny 2 Beyond Light, after a year, a new raid is finally coming. Read about when the endgame challenge starts, how the competition for “World’s First” works, and what treasures are there to claim.
These are the important raid times:
- On November 21, the new raid will open its doors
- At 7 PM German time, the start signal will sound
Beyond Light releases on November 10. You have 11 days to prepare for the new raid. In other words, familiarize yourself with the new Stasis classes, level up, and hunt for new exotics.
This is unusually long: For the last raid in Shadowkeep, players only had 4 days to prepare. Moreover, Bungie wants to make the competition conditions even fairer.
With the opening of a new raid, the prestigious “World’s First” race also begins. Everyone who has rank and name in the Destiny universe wants to compete for the oversized winner’s belt. However, this time “normal” guardians are supposed to have better chances.
This is how the “World’s First” race should run fairly: Once again, Bungie activates a special competition mode in the new raid. This is intended to ensure that all players participate in the competition under the same conditions:
- The competition mode is active for 24 hours (only in the raid)
- In each encounter, the level of all players is capped at 20 below the recommended power.
- Artifact power is disabled
- A power cap of 1,230 is the goal for all battles for your team
Moreover, the legitimacy of the winning team will be scrutinized more carefully than before. Bungie stated (via This Week at Bungie): “So expect that the official announcement of the ‘World’s First’ title will come a bit later than usual.”

What we already know about the new raid in Destiny 2: Beyond Light
These rewards await for the challenge: Not only does the winning team of the “World’s First” race receive exclusive rewards. If you complete the raid within the first 24 hours in competition mode, you will receive this emblem:
If you complete the raid before December 1 at 6 PM German time, you can secure a code for the official raid jacket. You redeem this in the Bungie store and “get” to purchase the jacket.
The design of the jacket is currently unknown.

Of course, raid-specific weapons and armor are also available. As usual, Bungie guards this like the apple of their eye. So we don’t know anything about the gear yet.
Traditionally, there is also a special weapon exotic waiting in the raid. Obtaining this involves great effort or a lot of luck. Thus, the raid exotics are considered the rarest in the entire game.
Where does the raid take place? There is currently little known about the raid itself or the enemies within. However, we do know that the adventure will take us to the legendary Deep Stone Crypt on Europa.
This place is said to be the birthplace of the Exo race. The Deep Stone Crypt could even become more than just a new raid.
