It’s only about a month until Destiny 2 releases its next expansion “The Witch Queen” and you get a new seasonal artifact with interesting mods. To help you level up quickly at launch, MeinMMO reveals which bounties you should save for the new DLC and what artifact mods await you in Witch Queen.
So close to the launch of a new expansion, the weekly increase of power level is no longer necessary. Bungie is expected to give all Guardians a power level boost. So if you planned to farm top loot or increase your artifact power in Season 15: Save it.
This is what you should focus on now: Our recommendation in the weeks leading up to the release of Witch Queen is to focus more on the new artifact and the season pass. At least some information about the artifact from Season 16 is already known.
- Every experience point counts to unlock the mods in the seasonal artifact
- If you want to quickly use all 25 artifact mods in Witch Queen, you’ll need a lot of EP
- Some of the new champion mods from Witch Queen have already been published, so you can prepare for that as well
Of course, it’s not exactly known what Bungie is planning in Season 16 and what changes will come with Witch Queen. The bounty system was already adjusted with Beyond Light to prevent particularly active players from leveling up too quickly.
To a certain extent, it is still possible to make preparations in Season 15 and “stash away” experience points. How worthwhile it is is shown by a player on reddit.
This is the maximum EP you can collect for Witch Queen: The player BYF9 has put in a lot of effort and calculated for the Destiny 2 community how much EP you can take into the new Season 16 and thus the expansion “The Witch Queen”.
According to his overview, it’s a whopping 1.6 million experience points, which corresponds to about 26 ranks of the season pass.
To achieve this, you need to complete 26 weekly and 27 daily bounties per character and save them for Witch Queen. You also need a few weeks of preparation, as not every bounty, such as clan and Iron Banner bounties, will always be available.
In his reddit article from January 16, which we have listed for you here, he shows all possible weekly bounties that you can use for leveling:
All bounties that you can complete at a glance
Here’s what you need to consider if you want to use bounties:
- Do not turn in bounties until you have received the seasonal artifact in Season 16
- Do not fill all slots, as you will need space for the new Witch Queen quests
- Prioritize Daily bounties that don’t lead to powerful rewards
- Bounties from locations disappearing with the launch of Witch Queen likely won’t provide any benefits anymore – so don’t waste time on them
- Also consider: If Bungie changes something, you might end up wasting your effort. Completed bounties could simply disappear from your inventory at the launch of the DLC.
Additionally Secure the Best Weapons for Season 16
Another good recommendation is to secure the best weapons in the current Season 15. With the new expansion, some weapons will no longer be available that you might need in the upcoming Season 16 against Champions.

Bungie has already revealed a lot about the upcoming champion mods. So you can already equip your arsenal accordingly.
These weapons are strong against champions in Season 16: Even in Witch Queen, Guardians will face off against champions again. For this, various weapon mods will be available through the Season 16 artifact:
- Scout rifles and bows are strong against Anti-Barrier champions
- The new weapon ” glaive ” will be able to stop Unstoppable champions
- You can disrupt Overload champions with auto rifles and submachine guns
It’s likely that even more weapons will be important in the upcoming Season 16, of which we currently know nothing.
Especially with auto rifles, “Chromatin Rapture” is favored by some players. The weapon was introduced with the Season of the Splicer and is a fast-firing 720 auto rifle with a large magazine.
It is considered one of the currently best PvE auto rifles in the game with the perks “Surplus” and “Rampage”. However, it is unclear whether it can still be obtained after the release of Witch Queen.
