The second faction rally of Destiny 2 is starting soon. You can earn these new weapons and special weapons.
It’s time to make a decision again! Next week, the second faction rally in Destiny 2 will begin, and the faction leaders from the Dead Orbit, the Future War Cult and the New Monarchy want to win you over to their cause.
You are to pledge allegiance to a faction, then collect tokens for them and earn as many reward packages as possible. The faction that brings in the most reward packages after one week wins the rally.
You support the faction by completing public events, strikes, and the raid, by looting lost sectors, or proving yourself in the Crucible.
Requirements are: You must be level 20 and have access to the Tower.
- The second faction rally runs from November 7 for one week.
Faction Rewards of the Second Rally
In the reward packages of the team fight, you will randomly receive several faction-specific items such as weapons, armor pieces, or shaders.
Bungie has already shown the new weapons that you can obtain in these packages.

Additionally, there are “special weapons” – the winner weapons. At the end of the faction rally, only the winning faction sells this weapon. In other words, the “winner weapons” of the other factions remain under wraps.

If you are a member of the winning faction, you will receive the winner weapon for 1000 Glimmer. But all other Guardians can also purchase this weapon – however, for 50,000 Glimmer.
What changes compared to the first faction rally?
According to Senior Designer Tim Williams, the second faction rally is set to focus more on fireteams. During the first rally, solo players gained tokens the fastest by going through lost sectors; now these changes are being implemented:
- Strikes will now grant more faction tokens – between 5 and 9 (previously between 3 and 7)
- The Nightfall strike will grant 10 to 18 faction tokens per character upon first completion
- Public heroic events will now only grant 5 faction tokens (instead of 8)
- By destroying enemy resources, no more faction tokens will be awarded. Opening lost sector chests will give 3 faction tokens for each fireteam member.
They will be keeping a close eye on this event and will continue to improve the faction rally in the future.
The first faction rally was won by the Dead Orbit – and that, according to several polls (including ours), quite clearly. Therefore, we are now directly starting the next poll: Which faction will you choose this time?
By the way: Season 2 brings some changes to the faction rally. The next season starts, as Community Manager DeeJ has now announced, on December 5 – along with Curse of Osiris.
