Finally, the Guardians have cracked the longest and most annoying step of the new quest “The Lie” in Destiny 2. Many were already looking forward to quickly acquiring the shotgun Felwinter’s Lie. However, a bug is currently hindering players.
What is happening in Destiny 2 right now? Recently, a new quest went live unexpectedly in Destiny 2 – The Lie. This quest apparently leads the Guardians in several steps to the new legendary shotgun Felwinter’s Lie.
However, the first step turned out to be frustrating for many players. It required the community to achieve 9 million completions of the Seraph Tower event. Many simply did not want to do that, Bungie has since made this step 10x easier. And now, just a few hours ago, it was finally cleared.
Some stayed up until the early morning hours farming 1,000 shotgun kills. But instead of finally holding the new weapon in their hands, many players are once again left empty-handed. A bug currently prevents progress in the quest at the last step.
What is the issue with the bug? During the quest, players need to achieve 1,000 shotgun kills. Once that is done, a new mission symbol on the Moon is unlocked – the arguably last step. And this step seems to be bugged.
When starting this mission, players do not begin the quest but spawn with Eris. It seems that currently all players are affected by this bug. So far, there are no known cases of anyone successfully starting the right mission.
What does Bungie say? Bungie is aware of the bug and has already spoken on Twitter. Community Manager dmg04 stated that it would indeed be a bug if you interact with the “The Lie” marker on the Moon and then appear with Eris.
The problem will be addressed early in the morning (US time), and players will be kept updated. Bungie has not yet clarified when exactly a fix will be available. They also ask players to report if anyone is able to progress through this step without issues.
What are the players saying? The mood is currently a bit down. The quest started off poorly in the eyes of many players and already caused frustration and annoyance with the exaggerated first step. That players are once again being held back just before the climax, namely the reward, this time by a bug, does not necessarily improve the general mood.
