The man who lends Zavala his English original voice plays a lot of Destiny 2 himself. However, not with a Titan.
Who is it about? Titans need to be strong now: Lance Reddick, the voice actor of the Titan leader Zavala, plays a Warlock in Destiny 2.
This was revealed by him yesterday via Twitter. In a short clip, he can be seen lounging on the couch, fulfilling his Guardian duties with a PS4 controller in hand. He captioned the video with “Saturday Vibes” and the hashtags #Destiny and #Zavala:
Right at the beginning of the video, it is clearly visible that “Zavala” plays a Warlock. He activates the Dawnblade Super – a distinctive Warlock attack – and goes hunting for aliens.
“As a Titan, I feel betrayed”
This is how the community reacts: The Guardians immediately pounced on this tweet to collectively joke about it. Even Bungie’s community manager Cozmo appears in the comments, dryly stating that Zavala is currently representing the Warlocks.
- “As a Titan main, I feel betrayed,” writes a Guardian with a distressed emoticon.
- “Whether we wanted it or not – Zavala is a Warlock” – replies another Guardian grinning.
- “Traitor” can also be seen.
Moreover, numerous memes are being posted to express outrage, like this one titled: “When you realize that Zavala is a Warlock main”:
Many Warlocks see this as a triumph: “Because Warlocks are the best, it’s as simple as that,” writes a Guardian as a reason why Zavala betrays the Titans.
Some Hunters also join the discussion and offer Zavala a nice cloak if he wants to turn away from the Titans.
In general, people are having quite a bit of fun in the comments, joking about the never-ending debate over which Guardian class is the best, coolest, or best dressed. And the Warlocks are currently on a high and cheerfully write “Warlock Master Race”.

Reddick is not the only “traitor”
This is how “Zavala” played Destiny 1: This recent tweet is not the first time Reddick has revealed his preference for Warlocks. Over two years ago, the man behind Zavala revealed during the Destiny 2 reveal that he mostly embodied a Warlock in Destiny 1 – and quite often.
Allegedly, he played Destiny 1 “almost every day” – 25% a Titan and 75% a Warlock.
Now we know that Reddick continues this betrayal in Destiny 2.
Who else is betraying their Guardians? Nathan Fillion, who voiced Cayde-6 for a long time, also confirmed some time ago that he plays a Warlock in Destiny 2. Thus, the former Hunter leader does not stick to his Guardian class either.
So, it is confirmed that 2 out of 3 Vanguard voices play Warlocks – and the third voice, which embodies Ikora, at least embodies a Warlock. Many Warlocks are now grinning that Warlocks are the true leaders of the Guardians.

Lance Reddick, by the way, not only appears as Zavala in Destiny 2. His voice is also featured in other video games, such as Horizon Zero Dawn or Quantum Break. Whether he plays these games with as much passion as Destiny is unknown.
But at least we now know that “Zavala” still regularly fulfills his Guardian duties – even if in Warlock robes.
