Destiny 2 is currently changing right before your eyes and no one notices it. Because soon half of the universe will disappear, the characters have to pack moving boxes diligently.
This is happening now: In Destiny 2, the big Autumn expansion Beyond Light has been postponed and the ongoing Season 11 extended. The players thought that there was a standstill for now, but we just haven’t looked closely enough – half of the universe is busily preparing for a momentous event.
If you visit the Tower hangar and look around near Saint-14, there are large containers and other supplies. Even on the planets Io, Mars, as well as Titan and Mercury, it looks like a logistics company due to the numerous boxes.
Behind this is the great evacuation, which forces the NPCs to pack, and this has probably been happening quietly for weeks. Destiny 2 is thus refocusing on storytelling through the changing game world.
The highlight of this type of storytelling culminated last season in a live event, where a massive fleet ship was erased at the last second.
That’s why half of the universe is moving in Destiny 2
This is what the evacuation is all about: In Destiny 2, huge changes are coming. The Darkness has arrived after 6 years and is showing its strength. With the release of the expansion in Autumn, the enemy will then swallow entire planets – content will thus (temporarily) leave the game.
Of course, Guardians leave no one behind and rescue the NPCs at these locations. As part of a quest, we said goodbye to the planets and warned the affected characters. All the boxes and containers are indeed moving boxes.
What happens next? The preparation for the evacuation has gone unnoticed for some weeks but is still not complete.
Compared to the other locations, Ana on Mars seems not to have packed all her belongings yet. It is conceivable that with today’s reset, the preparations on Mars will be completed as well. Will the evacuation then go into high gear next week?
We can assume that we will soon be able to welcome a bunch of our allies in the Tower. The only question is whether Ana will bring the dangerous Rasputin with her. But surely her move will take longer, as how do you pack such a machine god?
By the way, it is already known that as a reward for the evacuation we will earn a new Exotic in Season 11. The gun is already in the database and looks really strong: Expert says in Destiny 2: Next weapon exotic will be “God Tier!”
