On Tuesday, May 22, 2018, it will be time: Lord Saladin will once again visit the Tower, and the first Iron Banner of the third season will start in Destiny 2.
Under the watchful eyes of the Iron Lords, Guardians can again enjoy 6vs6 in the Crucible for a week. This also kicks off the hunt for new weapons and ornaments of the Season 3 Iron Banner that Saladin brings with him.
When exactly does it start? And what kind of equipment can the Guardians expect? We have all the important details.

The 6vs6 format will be played again.
- Start: Tuesday, May 22 at 7 PM
- End: Tuesday, May 29 at 7 PM
- Mode: Control
Power level advantages are disabled in the Iron Banner, there is a normal player search.

Participation requirements:
- You need to have unlocked the Tower, which means completing the main campaign.
- You must be at least level 20.
- Visit Lord Saladin to start an Iron Banner quest, if you haven’t done so yet.
- The Iron Banner has its own playlist in the Crucible overview that you can play.
With the Warmind expansion, the Iron Banner event has also been updated, changing how players can earn their rewards. Lord Saladin now has a similar reputation system as the Vanguard starting from the May Iron Banner.

Players can now rank up by earning Iron Banner tokens through participation and redeeming them with the Iron Lord in the Tower. Each reputation rank-up grants progress towards unlocking coveted rewards. The higher you rank up, the more equipment will be available for purchase.
By the way: Your previously collected tokens will remain and carry over to Season 3. So anyone who has saved up will be able to rank up significantly at the start of the event.
With the start of Season 3 in Destiny 2, new weapons and armor ornaments can be earned in the Iron Banner.
The following weapons can be earned starting May 22:
- Energy Hand Cannon “Finite Impactor”
- Energy Auto Rifle “Dark Decision”
- Kinetic Sidearm “Allied Demand”
- Kinetic SMG Multimach CCX
- Sniper Rifle “Locked Finality”
- Rocket Launcher “Luminous Sphere”

Each ornament requires a certain progress in the Iron Banner or with Lord Saladin. Progress is counted account-wide. The following requirements apply for the ornaments.
- Class item: Reach rank 5 in the Iron Banner
- Leg armor: Defeat 100 enemies in the Iron Banner with your Super
- Chest armor: Defeat 100 enemies in the Iron Banner with Power weapons
