It took a few weeks, but the first raid cheese in Destiny 2 is here. How will Bungie respond to the exploit?
When it comes to exploiting cheeses and exploits, the Destiny community is as resourceful as few others. A video along with a step-by-step guide has been circulating on Reddit for a few hours, showing how to significantly simplify the final fight against Calus.
Exploiting such errors in the game always comes with the risk that Bungie will unleash the banhammer if they are exploited.
After all, these “tricks” are not intended and put players at a disadvantage who play fairly. Therefore, we strongly advise against imitation.
The community is reacting differently to this “find.” Some are surprised that the exploit was only discovered now, while others joke that the discoverer should at least have waited until the prestige raid (higher difficulty) comes out so that the cheese could be exploited then.
However, most are loudly calling for Bungie to fix the cheese as soon as possible. There are fears that it could lead to delays in the release of the prestige raid.
This is what the exploit does – Empty Throne Room during the fight against Calus
We will not provide a cheese guide here. We just want to inform Destiny 1 veterans: For the exploit, no one needs to pull their network cable!
At its core, it involves a well-timed wipe of all guardians. Under certain circumstances, all doors in the throne room will open, from which no enemies will spawn anymore. You will only have to deal with Calus and his Psion minions in the shadow realm.
Through this exploit, Calus was repeatedly taken down in just one damage phase, and the damage buff, the willpower, could be driven to dizzying heights.
Especially with regard to the prestige mode, such a glitch is fatal. It is supposed to start later in October. Whether the exploit will lead to a postponement remains to be seen. But Bungie will have to respond quickly – the post about this Calus cheese is currently exploding in the Reddit forum. It can no longer be kept under wraps.
