Bungie gives its Guardians no time to rest. With “The Final Shape”, a new DLC has been released in Destiny 2, and on Friday, the new raid “Edge of Redemption” will also launch. When it starts exactly and what you should know about it, you will find out here.
When does the raid in The Final Shape start? Mark your calendar for Friday, June 7 at 7 PM.
- The raid “Edge of Redemption” starts on June 7 for all players, but first in contest mode.
- The contest mode will last until Sunday, June 9 at 7:00 PM.
- You have 48 hours to master this difficult challenge in contest mode.
- Bungie stated that the contest mode of the raid “Edge of Redemption” will have a power cap of 1965 for all encounters.
- After the contest mode ends, all Guardians can normally join the raid and experience the new content without the extra challenges of contest mode.

Raid in The Final Shape – Everything about Day One and the setting
Will there be a Day One run? Yes, there will also be a Day One run for the raid “Edge of Redemption” and this will be held in contest mode.
Bosses also become true sponge-like creatures that can absorb massive damage. Essentially, it is a nightmarish version of the affected raid, where Guardians will struggle for hours.
After the contest mode, the players who are the first to successfully survive and complete the raid will be rewarded with a prestigious championship belt and an emblem – that’s how it has always been.
Everyone else who was slower but still completes the raid within the contest mode timeframe will receive an exclusive raid emblem, which can also only be earned within the first 48 hours.
Bungie itself advises to complete the campaign of “The Final Shape” and the Exotic quest “Wildcard” to experience the story in the best possible way.
What should I pay attention to? It’s important to mention that the Well of Warlocks has been nerfed to the ground. Your long-standing supporter is off the table, and you now need to find alternatives.
Titans have good chances of taking the place of Warlocks with their Banner of War or Void Focus and their Bubble. Be prepared and also secure some new exotic gear from “The Final Shape”.
Additionally, certain items have been disabled for the contest mode to ensure fair conditions in the raid. You should be aware of the following:
- Lucky Pants (Hunter exotic)
- Cascade Point (perk)
- Majestic Howling (perk)
- Unrelenting Hits (perk)
- Facet of Dominion (prismatic fragment)
- Ascendancy (Arc Hunter aspect)
Where will the raid take place? Anyone who has completed the story knows that the threat of the Witness has not yet been banished. He has been injured but has retreated into the Monolith and transformed into something monstrous.
