In Destiny 2, the Black Armory for all owners of the Annual Pass will launch on December 4. But what exactly is included in the first of a total of three premium content packs?
Recently, Bungie announced the official release of the Black Armory. However, little is known about the contents so far. Now there are finally some concrete details. Owners of the Forsaken Annual Pass can look forward to these soon.
What the Black Armory from the Annual Pass offers
What is the Black Armory? The Black Armory is initially the name of the first premium DLC in Year 2. These premium contents will only be available as part of the Forsaken season pass. They will not be available separately.
Furthermore, the Black Armory represents a new in-game location created by three families during the Golden Age of humanity.
New vendor of the Black Armory: The Black Armory comes with its own vendor – the Exo Ada-1. She will invite the Guardians into the Black Armory and then send them on a quest to find the four “forges of the chain”.
However, the Black Armory will not offer its own campaign. Instead, it is a place where Guardians can pick up quests for things they want to earn.
What are the forges of the chain? All of these forges of the chain, the Lost Forges, have been dormant since the Golden Age. There are a total of four, and they will go live gradually throughout Season 5.
As part of the eponymous cooperative activity “For the Forges”, designed for teams of three Guardians with matchmaking, the Guardians will then be able to activate these forges accordingly.
There, the aim is to withstand waves of invading enemies and protect the forge while your rewards are being crafted – similar to the Escalation Protocol or the Blind Well, but with new additional mechanics.
By the way – there will be no new enemy races or types.
New weapons and armor: This will enable players to forge powerful and unique weapons and armor once designed by the three families.
The families belonged to different cultures – Japanese, French, and Nordic – which is reflected in the appearance of some items.
New exotic weapons: The Black Armory is a source of legendary gear. However, the DLC also brings new exotic weapons. Bungie has now introduced three of them:

- Le Monarque – Bow:
- Izanagi’s Burden – Sniper Rifle:
Additionally, there will be an exotic fusion rifle and a popular exotic returner from Destiny 1 – presumably the hand cannon The Last Word.
The Black Armory brings a new raid: The first premium DLC will offer a new raid. This will not be a raid wing for the Forsaken raid Last Wish, but rather a completely new raid.
This will take place in the ruins of the Lost City and is named “Scourge of the Past”. Here, it will even be possible to use vehicles. The battles are expected to resemble the “Wrath of the Machine” raid from Destiny 1.
What the Black Armory also brings: In addition to these features, owners of the Annual Pass will receive more triumphs and lore, allowing them to further expand their collections and background knowledge about the three lost cultures and the world of Destiny. At least one new title will also be available in this context – the Blacksmith.
What’s available in Season 5 without Annual Pass and the Black Armory: Players who forgo the season pass will also receive some new content in the new season:
- Heavy machine guns
- New mods that can also be used for the Forsaken arsenal (For Forsaken owners)
