Destiny 2 offers a wealth of weapons for daily use in PvE. We present to you a few gems – and then it’s your turn!
In Destiny 2, it’s all about the Guardian’s guns. In this article, we want to focus on the allegedly best legendary weapons for fighting against the alien races. Why only legendary weapons? You are allowed to carry only one exotic weapon, and tastes vary here.
You can equip legendary gear as often as you want. And the selection is large. We present to you some popular weapons for fighting against the AI before it’s your turn!
5. Applause, Applause – Legendary Rocket Launcher
The weapon with the somewhat cumbersome name “Applause, Applause” is a rocket launcher. And what a one! The blast radius and speed aren’t outstanding, which is why this rocket launcher is not a choice for the Crucible. Handling and recoil of this weapon are below average, but that’s utterly irrelevant for a rocket launcher.

The great strength of the rocket launcher is the perk Cluster Bombs, which massively increases its damage and thus makes it the best legendary rocket launcher in the game against AI.
The rocket launcher has the following special perks:
- Aggressive Frame – High damage, high recoil
- Cluster Bombs – Rockets that explode give rise to Cluster Bombs
You can get this rocket launcher from Zavala’s Vanguard packages. For this, you must collect Vanguard tokens and have luck with a level-up to get this rocket launcher!
4. Better Devils – Legendary Hand Cannon
This legendary hand cannon could be thoroughly tested during the beta and quickly gained many fans. Bungie has a penchant for devils when it comes to hand cannons – there was already “The Devil You Know” in Destiny 1 as well as “The Devil You Don’t”.

And Bungie continues the tradition in Destiny 2. Because the devils’ hand cannons have always been very good weapons that performed well in every content. The fire rate and impact of Better Devils are excellent, while the other parameters are rather mediocre for a hand cannon.
The great advantage of the weapon lies in the perk Explosive Payload. This ensures that shots on enemy targets cause area damage that can hit more than one enemy. Particularly in large groups of enemies, this perk is worth its weight in gold.
You can also extend the magazine to up to 13 shots, which is decent for a hand cannon. The following main perks characterize the weapon:
- Adaptive Frame – A rounded grip, reliable and robust
- Explosive Payload – Projectiles create an area explosion upon impact
You can obtain the Better Devils with a bit of luck from legendary engrams.
3. A Single Clap – Legendary Sniper Rifle
A Single Clap is a power weapon and a powerful sniper rifle in PvE content, as it has one of the highest impacts. Even though you only have 4 shots in the magazine, you can easily compensate for this with a shotgun barricade or the Hunter dodge.

This sniper rifle A Single Clap also has the perk Explosive Payload, dealing area damage. The main perks of the sniper rifle are
- Adaptive Frame – A rounded grip, reliable and robust
- Explosive Payload – Projectiles create an area explosion upon impact
You can receive this sniper rifle as a reward from the Gunsmith Banshee-44 when you level up.
2. MIDA Mini-Tool – Legendary Submachine Gun
A submachine gun has also made it to the hit list. The MIDA Mini-Tool is an energy weapon and increases your movement speed with its main perk. The increased reload speed when the magazine is empty and the synergy with the MIDA Multi-Tool make this submachine gun a powerful weapon in PvE content.

The MIDA Mini-Tool comes with the following perks:
- Lightweight Frame – Superb handling. Move faster when this weapon is equipped
- Canny Barrel – Ultra-lightweight barrel. Significantly increases ready speed and slightly increases stability
- Reloaded Magazine – Increased reload speed when the magazine is empty
- MIDA Synergy – This weapon provides speed bonuses when the MIDA Multi-Tool is also equipped
To obtain the MIDA Mini-Tool, you are not dependent on luck. You will find a corresponding quest in the European Dead Zone after completing the campaign.
1. Midnight Without a Name – Legendary Scout Rifle
Rank 1 goes to a legendary scout rifle from the Vanguard. Although the exotic scout rifle MIDA Multi-Tool is ubiquitous in the Crucible, there are certainly alternatives for fighting against computer-controlled enemies.
And Midnight Without a Name is not just an alternative, but a top weapon. The fire rate is unmatched, and the shot behavior is more vertical, making the weapon easier to handle.

The magazine offers a fantastic 16 shots, and moreover, the weapon has the perk Explosive Payload – dealing area damage. The main perks summarized:
- Precision Frame – The recoil behavior of this weapon is more vertical
- Explosive Payload – Projectiles create an area explosion upon impact
As a bonus, this weapon is also very easy to obtain. After completing the campaign, you can choose one of three (truly fantastic) weapons from Commander Zavala – including the Midnight Without a Name.
Now it’s your turn! Post your favorites in Destiny 2 in the comments!
