Graviton Lance

What is the Graviton Lance? Even if it feels more like a scout rifle to many Guardians after the overhaul, it is an energy slot pulse rifle. Before its general overhaul, the Graviton Lance was one of the least used exotic weapons and underwent one of the most significant transformations in this context.
What makes the pulse rifle so special? The Graviton Lance fires 2-shot salvos. The exotic perk “Black Hole” ensures that the second shot of a salvo deals high damage and does not suffer from damage falloff. Kills with this exotic weapon also cause slain enemies to explode and spawn Void projectiles that track nearby targets.
How do you get the Graviton Lance? There are several possible sources for this exotic weapon:
- You can receive it as a random drop from all sources that can drop exotic engrams
- Xur: Sometimes the Agent of the Nine has this weapon on hand
How do you get the exotic catalyst and what can the masterpiece version do?
- Source: Reward for achieving rank 50 with Dead Orbit during faction rallies in Season 3. The catalyst will also be available beyond Season 3.
- Upgrade Effect: Range +20, Aim Assist +15, “Hidden Hand” perk: Improved target acquisition
What is this exotic weapon best for? In PvE, the Graviton Lance makes a good impression, especially when Void Resilience is active in strikes, for example. However, due to numerous exotic alternatives, it does not frequently occupy the valuable exotic slot in PvE.
In PvP, however, the Graviton Lance is a powerhouse and is essentially considered the best Crucible weapon for many. Due to its high stability, good handling, and predictable and easily manageable recoil, it has ruled unchallenged at the top for most kills in the Trials of Osiris since its overhaul. As a masterpiece version, this pulse rifle is significantly enhanced with additional range and increased target acquisition (for consoles).
