Crimson

What is Crimson? The Crimson is an exotic hand cannon for the Kinetic slot. This weapon essentially embodies the Destiny 2 version of the Red Death – a popular Pulse Rifle from Destiny 1 – compressed into a hand cannon.
What makes this hand cannon so special? Crimson fires a 3-shot salvo through its exotic perk Forbidden Weapon – just like a pulse rifle. Moreover, kills with this weapon heal its user. Precise kills also recharge the magazine.
How do you get Crimson? There are several possible sources for this exotic weapon:
- You can receive it as a random drop from all sources that can drop exotic engrams
- Xur: Sometimes the Agent of the Nine has this weapon on hand
How do you get the exotic catalyst and what can the masterpiece version do?
- Source: drops randomly from any Humanity enemies
- Upgrade Effect: Range +20
What is this exotic weapon best for? With its special perks, Crimson is excellent for almost all PvE content in Destiny 2. Especially where ammunition and health regeneration are critical – for example in strikes with appropriate modifiers or during faction rallies (with increasing popularity) – Crimson becomes an extremely valuable helper and can save your neck more than once.
However, in PvP, Crimson is also one of the most popular and used weapons. Thanks to health regeneration and its handling, it is very popular in the Crucible. Especially Hunters can massively increase their survivability with a combo of Crimson and the Vermisste Krone helmet (which regenerates health when dodging) – especially in battles against multiple opponents.
