What is the Tractor Cannon? The Tractor Cannon falls into the shotgun category and is therefore carried in the Power slot. Until its overhaul, the Tractor Cannon was considered a curiosity and found almost no use. However, with the general overhaul, that changed.
What makes this curious weapon special? Although this weapon deals good damage at close range just like a shotgun, that’s not all. Thanks to its intrinsic perk Repulsor Force, the Tractor Cannon has a physical impulse that pushes enemies away.
Additionally, any target hit by this weapon receives a debuff. This effect makes enemies 10 seconds more susceptible to incoming Void damage and suppresses their abilities.
How do you get the Tractor Cannon? There are several possible sources for this exotic weapon:
- You can receive it as a random drop from all sources that can drop exotic engrams
- Xur: Sometimes the Agent of the Nine has this weapon on hand
How do you get the exotic catalyst and what can the masterpiece version do?
- Source: drops randomly from any Humanity enemies
- Upgrade Effect: Magazine +70, “Deeper Pockets” perk: Increased ammo reserves
What is this exotic weapon best for? The weapon excels in increasing damage output if the rest of the arsenal and subclass are appropriately aligned. Especially in combination with Void weapons and Void Warlocks, who also support with a strengthening Rift and use their Void abilities and Supers, the Tractor Cannon becomes an almost indispensable companion.
This makes strikes, the Escalation Protocol, and even raid bosses significantly easier. Upgrading to masterpiece increases the weapon’s effectiveness even further, allowing for noticeably more ammunition to be loaded and carried.
In the right hands, the weapon can also be fun in PvP and can really achieve a lot – especially if you manage, with a bit of practice, to knock your opponents out of an active super or off a cliff due to its suppression capability.
