The Eververse is the cash shop in Destiny 2 and has been the source of most discussions and frustration moments in the history of this MMO shooter. Because the Eververse is way too present in the game.
In recent days and weeks, there has been a community movement demanding the abolition of the Eververse. “Kill Tess” has been heard. Because the cash shop is not an optional feature that can be completely ignored. Instead
one must regularly trot to the Eververse, as Tess Everis is the only one who can decrypt Bright Engrams. These can be obtained by gathering enough experience points. Conveniently, they can also be purchased directly from Tess. Bright Engrams are the “loot boxes” of Destiny 2, which predominantly contain cosmetic items.
Events like the Dawning primarily revolve around the Eververse. New cosmetic items appear, and the fastest way to obtain them is to open your wallet. Bungie only hosts microtransaction events, is the accusation.
it seems that the endgame mainly revolves around collecting cosmetic items through Bright Engrams and thus through the Eververse.
Guardians expect that Destiny 2 will allow them to earn loot through activities. After all, they bought Destiny 2 expecting it to be a loot grinder. And the most important thing is the loot. However, one cannot access that loot because Tess Everis hides it in the Eververse.
There is no way to work towards any of the cosmetic items purposefully. You can farm XP, but then you have to cross your fingers to get the item you want.
Therefore, many Guardians wish for 2018 that the Eververse will be completely abolished or at least significantly reduced in importance. Nice ghost shells, ships, or sparrows should be awarded as rewards for completing activities, similar to strike-specific loot. Imagine a Destiny 2 where all Eververse items are tied to activities.
Bungie promised that there would be discussions about the Eververse in 2018. What these will look like and what changes are forthcoming remains to be seen.
What are your Destiny 2 wishes for 2018? Where should Bungie focus to make Destiny 2 the game you hope for? Or are you currently satisfied without any wishes?
