For those who used to play Destiny 2 but have strayed from the right path in recent years, now is the opportunity to catch up on what was missed. Included in the lineup of free titles in February 2023 for the PS Plus service is Destiny 2: “Beyond Light” for Sony’s PS4 and PS5 consoles. The expansion usually costs €30 and is considered quite successful.
This is the news: Destiny 2: Beyond Light is the headliner among the free titles that PS Plus subscribers on PS4 and PS5 can look forward to in February 2023. The other games are:
- Evil Dead: The Game
- OlliOlliWorld
- Mafia: The Definitive Edition
What kind of expansion is this? “Beyond Light” is the penultimate expansion of Destiny 2, released in 2020. After that came “The Witch Queen.”
Beyond Light is the first part of a trilogy of Destiny expansions, which is set to conclude in February 2023 with “Lightfall.”
Those who once played Destiny 2 but lost interest or wanted to avoid the purchase price (currently €29.99) can now take the plunge.
Generally, the expansion “Beyond Light” is regarded as solid and a step forward compared to Shadowkeep, though it does not quite reach the level of Forsaken. The expansion has a rating of 77% on Metacritic.
Destiny 2 apparently wants more hype for Lightfall
Why is this happening right now? It is obvious that Bungie is employing a tactic that has been used frequently: before the release of the new expansion, they use PS Plus to stir up excitement. They provide people with free content, hoping to attract new players who will then be involved with the next paid expansion.
The next expansion “Lightfall” will be released on February 28.
The games from PS Plus can be downloaded on February 7 – the offer lasts until March 6.
