In Destiny 2, players can choose between three tempting reward categories for six weeks with the introduction of “Riven’s Wishes.” This is the first measure to fill the extended Season 23 with content and keep players engaged.
What has Bungie announced? With “Riven’s Wishes,” a weekly quest enters the game, asking you to take on various challenges in the Dreaming City.
- Players can receive the quest each week from Mara Sov in the H.E.L.M.
- For the quest, challenging objectives in the Dreaming City, such as the dungeon or Legendary Lost Sectors, must be completed.
- Upon completing the quest, you will receive a “Wish token” that allows you to secure your desired loot from three categories.
One of the most notable aspects is the freedom and the type of reward you receive through “Riven’s Wishes.” Not only can you decide what you want, but the offerings are also exceptionally good.
6 Weeks of Special Rewards
Here are the rewards: With “Riven’s Wishes,” you have the freedom to choose your rewards based on your own needs and desires. And the rewards are undoubtedly enticing, as Bungie revealed in the weekly “This Week at Destiny” blog.
You can spend your wish token on these 3 categories:
- “Last Wish” Resonance
Choose a red-bordered “Last Wish” raid weapon (blueprint weapon). - Exotics
Choose an exotic Lightfall armor piece. - Diverse
In addition to Ascendant Shards and Exotic Engrams, you can also snag the coveted weapon mementos from the last two events.
How is the new quest offering being received? Quite well. For players who already possess all the blueprints for the “Last Wish” raid weapons and all Lightfall exotics, the mementos are particularly interesting. The latter was extremely difficult to obtain during the events, so this is seen as a welcome opportunity. Nevertheless, some players were a bit disappointed.
I didn’t have high expectations for these wishes. But as someone who has all the armor exotics and the blueprint weapons from “Last Wish,” I’m just not really interested at all. Sure, getting more resources is fine, and this totally black shader is cool. But is that all? I know I’m in the minority, but damn, I wish (hehehe) there was something else.

Other players, like Neat_On_The_Rocks, are very excited about the opportunity to get blueprints for coveted raid weapons without having to play the raid.
I don’t raid enough to ever bother farming the [blueprints] for raid weapons. I’m so damn excited about this idea.

The offering of this quest line seems to be a great opportunity especially for casual players, while veterans and frequent players are somewhat disappointed.
These questions remain unanswered: There was also a discussion on Destiny Reddit about whether the quest will be available once per account or once per character. Bungie has not provided any further information on this.
Currently, however, we assume that these quests and their rewards are account-limited, meaning you can only earn the complete blueprint of a weapon – provided you have made no blueprint progress on the weapons yet. Along with it, you can also get an exotic or a memento.
If the quest were character-based instead of account-based, you would have the chance to obtain a red-bordered “Last Wish” raid weapon a total of 18 times. This would translate to three craftable weapons and some additional rewards.
It is also still unclear whether New Light
players, who are playing for Free2Play and may not have the corresponding expansions, can obtain the weapon blueprints and Lightfall exotics in this way.
When will “Riven’s Wishes” be available? Starting January 30, new quests will be available for six weeks. However, you have until the release of “The Final Form” to complete them and earn the rewards. You will receive the quest itself and the wish tokens from Mara Sov in the H.E.L.M. (Hub for Logistics and Operations).
Alongside this new quest line, “Triumph Moments 2024” will also launch on January 30 with a total of 30 challenges. With this, you can still earn the MMXXIII
title and some event rewards, such as the new “Laurel Shell” and the Sparrow “Gold-Plated Quadriga.”
