In Destiny 2, it may be difficult to hide while using an active super. Mobile supers leave glowing footprints.
Throughout July, IGN will release exclusive information and fresh gameplay for Destiny 2. In the past few days, we have seen plenty of footage from the Crucible:
- The revamped control mode has been introduced,
- as well as the PvP map Endless Vale,
- the Vostok map
- and the Sentinel and the “new” Voidwalker in PvP combat.
In this flood of information, most of you have probably overlooked an interesting detail: The Guardians leave glowing footprints when using their mobile super!
Neon-blue and -purple footprints in Destiny 2
In gameplay scenes, footprints from the Sentinel, Arcstrider, and Dawnblade were already visible. You can see them especially well in this GIF:
The Guardians only leave neon-colored footprints on the ground when they activate a mobile super. These are the super attacks that you activate and can then take a few steps “in active super.” A Nova Bomb, for example, is not a mobile super, whereas the super from the Arcstrider is.
What do the footprints bring?
On Reddit, this discovery is definitely considered “cool,” but there is uncertainty about what advantages or disadvantages may arise from it.
In some PvP scenarios, they might help you to avoid death. Or they help you if you decide to pursue the Guardian.
But if a Sentinel Titan charges at you with his shield in PvP, you probably won’t be looking at the footprints first.
