Destiny 2: Strong Solar 3.0 Builds for Every Class to Roast Your Enemies

Solar Titan – Immortal thanks to Sunspots

Our second build is for the Titan. To use it, you need not only the new Solar 3.0 aspects and fragments but also the armor Exotic “Lorelei Helm.” It was introduced with the Witch Queen expansion in February 2022.

The Lorelei Solar 3.0 build, which currently makes Titans almost immortal.

What makes the build so special? The exotic helm provides your Titan with an almost never-ending heal. The intrinsic perk “Cauterizing Flame” is activated whenever someone dares to harm your Titan.

When you take critical damage, your class ability is consumed, and a comforting sunspot is created at your Guardian’s location, granting you “improved restoration effects.” Conveniently, you can also proactively create a barricade and generate the healing sunspot that way. Passing through your sunspots heals you as well.

  • Cauterizing Flame: When critically wounded while at full class ability energy or using a barricade, you create a sunspot with improved restoration effects at your location. (via light.gg)

We have listed everything here that we currently use in our Titan build. Of course, this can always be adapted to your own playstyle by trying out different Solar Supers or grenades as well as different aspects, fragments, or mods.

Our recommendation for this Titan Lorelei build:

SolarAspects
Raging Flames
Kills with Solar abilities or ignitions increase the damage of your Solar abilities. Stackable up to 3 times.
Sol Invictus
Kills with Solar abilities or defeating scorched targets create sunspots. Abilities regenerate more quickly and Super drains slower in a sunspot. Sunspots scorch and deal damage to targets inside. Restoration occurs by entering a sunspot.

For the Solar fragments, we recommend:

SolarFragments
Empyrean Flame
Solar weapon or ability kills increase the duration of restoration and Radiant effects applied to you.
Flame of Comfort
Radiant and restoring effects applied to you last longer.
Flame of Scorching
Your class ability charges faster when you scorch targets.
Flame of the Torches
Charged melee attacks against combatants grant you and nearby allies the Radiant effect.

The build can be well complemented with the following weapons and stats:

  • Armor stats: Your resilience should be as high as possible for the barricade. (max. 100).
  • Kinetic weapon: The weapon Exotic Monte Carlo. With the auto rifle, you further reduce the cooldown of your melee ability.
  • Elemental sources mods:
    • “Life Source” for an increase in regeneration.
    • “Elemental Well” for further ability boosts.
  • Energy weapon: the 900 RPM Solar submachine gun from Season 17 – Calus Mini-Tool.
  • Weapon perk: “Glowing,” to spread additional Scorch among the targets.

How does the build play? First of all, there’s nothing to watch out for. As long as you have your class ability ready and get critically wounded, the Exotic automatically triggers and creates a sunspot that heals you. This works even in PvP when a hostile Guardian critically injures you.

This gives Titans unlimited healing and protection: With your abilities, super, grenade, or small throwing hammer (which is still extremely strong despite the nerfs), you can take down one enemy after another. A new sunspot always appears at their death spot that you can use to heal yourself.

If you want to trigger the healing yourself, place your small rally barricade, behind which a sunspot appears. If you have sufficient resilience and use “Flame of Scorching,” you can keep placing the barricade over and over. Your melee, the small throwing hammer, can be used endlessly and collected again to stack Scorch.

Only limitation: The effect works, unlike the healing of the Warlock, only on your Guardian and not on team members. Still, this build is now so popular that some Titans no longer want to miss the burning “Bunny Ears” of the Lorelei helm and even view this build as meta.

You could optionally play this build with the Solar 3.0 aspect “Benediction” instead of “Sol Invictus” and “Flame of the Flames” instead of “Flame of Comfort.” But that’s a bit more complex to play, so we chose the version shown above for more healing.

In our tests, we had to act more cautiously in the endgame. But even there, the exotic Lorelei helm proved more than once to save the Titan from certain death. Only when you take on 5 Sprengers simultaneously is the counter-heal no longer strong enough. In all other cases, you can hardly be taken down by generating Solar sources. You can often stand in the middle of enemies, and nothing can bring you down.

Even though the Titan is extremely strong in Season 17, click on and find out how to build a super strong Solar 3.0 Warlock.
