In Destiny 2, players discovered that a specific combo can now deal massive damage. However, this combo requires 2 Guardians. How it works and whether it is intended, you can find out here on MeinMMO.
Which weapons are involved? These are the exotic hand cannon “Dienstvergehen” and the exotic grenade launcher “Dürrensammler”. Both exotics fire projectiles wrapped in the “Besessenen” substance. A player recently found out that both weapons can deal significant damage in combination, but you need to be two to do it.
Two possessed weapons create an unexpected synergy
YouTuber Hynra demonstrated the combo in his YouTube video. There, he fires a bullet from the Dürrensammler at an enemy, then switches to the Dienstvergehen, resulting in 25% more damage.
This also works against possessed enemies. Through this interplay, you can even deal 50% more damage to your opponents. However, this is only effective if you travel in pairs. Solo, this combo would be a real pain, as you would have to switch weapons after each shot.
How does the synergy work?
- A colleague fires a possessed bullet at your chosen enemy.
- After they are hit, you pull out your Dienstvergehen and fill your opponent with it.
- The system thinks, due to the curse of the Dürrensammler, that your opponent is possessed.
- This way, you benefit from the shots of your exotic hand cannon.
- This indeed deals bonus damage to such enemies.
Bug or Intent? Players are not in agreement on this. If it is indeed an intentional feature, it would be a cool detail. Such a synergy between two weapons in this form is unique in Destiny 2 so far.
However, this also shows that players in Destiny 2 have not discovered everything yet. Many believe that this is just a bug. It is thought that Bungie’s system misinterprets the message, labeling the enemies as possessed.
Nevertheless, the combo still works, and it’s worth trying out.
