In advance of the upcoming Warmind expansion, Bungie announced what changes fans can expect regarding Heroic Strikes and the Nightfall with the release of the second DLC for Destiny 2. We have the details.

What happened? In the current “This Week at Bungie” blog, the studio showcased the upcoming changes to Heroic Strikes and the Nightfall. These changes will be active for all players with the release of the Warmind DLC on May 8th. Whether you have purchased DLC 2 or not does not matter.
How Destiny 2 plans to refresh the Strikes
The following changes are made to Heroic Strikes: For Season 3 the baseline difficulty of Heroic Strikes has been increased. Enemies will be significantly more aggressive. Additionally, there will always be three modifiers active in the Heroic Strike playlist. This aims to provide extra excitement and challenge.
There will be a burning modifier that changes weekly:
- Arc Burn: + 25 % dealt and received Arc damage
- Solar Burn: + 25 % dealt and received Solar damage
- Void Burn: + 25 % dealt and received Void damage
Additionally, one of these advantages will be active and will change daily:
- Brawler: The charge rate and damage of melee attacks are doubled
- Grenadier: The charge rate and damage of the grenade ability are doubled
- Heavyweight: Power ammo drop rate is tripled, Power weapons deal double damage
Furthermore, a daily rotating disadvantage from the following list will apply:
- Glass: Player health and shields are halved, but they recharge twice as quickly
- Blackout: Radar is disabled, and enemies deal 20 times increased melee damage
- Iron: Enemies no longer flinch and health pools are increased by 50%
- Grounded: Players take 5 times more damage when in the air

The following changes will occur with the Nightfall: To make the Nightfall more varied, Bungie will soon even involve the Agent of the Nine. Starting May 8, 2018, players will be able to bring their rare challenge card to Xûr.
There, they can upgrade it to a legendary challenge card. This will add more customization options to the card. This aims to give players more opportunities to achieve a higher strike score in the Nightfall.

With legendary cards, a burning modifier, an advantage/disadvantage, and two additional disadvantages can be activated. With the exception of the disadvantage Glass, all advantages and disadvantages from Heroic Strikes can be used on the legendary challenge card.
However, the following disadvantages are only available for the legendary challenge card:
- Extinguished: Returns the fireteam to orbit if all fall
- Scarcity: Ammo drops are reduced by 50%
- Precision: Players must match their damage type to the enemy’s shield type
- Friction: Health regeneration is significantly slower, and enemies drop health orbs
- Momentum: Health regenerates only when the player is moving

So the High Score levels have been adjusted: In this context, the strike score levels have also been redefined. Upon reaching each level, players can earn specific rewards such as badges and auras.
Additionally, with each score level, your chance for the respective exclusive Nightfall reward increases. The new levels are now as follows:
- 30,000
- 60,000
- 110,000
- 200,000
What do you think of these changes? Do they make the strikes more appealing in your eyes?
