In Destiny 2, Guardians can look forward to more ways to customize their nasty ice classes. The Game Director revealed that new aspects and fragments are on the way.
For the Guardians, a lot has changed since the launch of Beyond Light (Beyond Light). A major focus of the expansion is the new Stasis classes. The ice abilities, which originate from darkness rather than light, are very popular among players.
They offer new possibilities and exude a real sense of power. In PvP, however, the new classes are even too powerful for many. It seems that freezing others and shattering them into a thousand shards is fun, but being helplessly frozen can be frustrating.
Here’s what’s new: Stasis classes are supposed to be the most customizable focuses that a Guardian can equip. This is made possible by the system of aspects and fragments.
As Luke Smith, the Game Director for Destiny at Bungie, mentioned, you can soon look forward to even more Stasis options.
In an interview with Polygon, it was stated that more aspects and fragments will be added to the game. Players will then be able to choose from a larger array of icy skills and nasty effects, creating their personal killing machine.
Aspects grant the classes new and extremely powerful skills, such as freezing everything in the environment or triggering shatter explosions. Fragments allow for additional effects like more damage or better stats.
Ice power is to resemble a streamlined system from Final Fantasy 7
This is important to Bungie: The goal should clearly be on the customization of the individual Stasis classes, according to the Destiny head. The lead designer for the sandbox, Kevin Yanes, compares the Stasis system to “a streamlined form of the materia system from Final Fantasy 7.”

When is it going to happen? Smith did not mention an exact date. However, it was mentioned at Polygon that between now and the next expansion Witch Queen (Fall 2021), more aspects and fragments are expected to be released. It is very likely that we will receive new Stasis adjustments each season.
These aspects & fragments are currently available in Beyond Light
In the currently ongoing season 12, each class has 2 unique aspects and a total of 6 fragments to choose from. The number of fragments that Guardians can equip additionally varies by aspect. This is for balance reasons, extremely strong aspects allow you to equip only a few fragments (some even none).

Warlock:
- Ice Spike: Shattering frozen targets creates automatic Stasis seekers that freeze other enemies
- Frost Pulse: Using your Rift generates a Stasis shockwave that freezes everything nearby
Hunter:
- Veil of Winter: Your dodge jump slows enemies in the vicinity
- Shard Jump: You slam down quickly from the air, shattering enemies in the impact radius
Titan:
- Tectonic Harvest: Shattering a Stasis crystal creates a Stasis shard. This grants you or your team melee energy
- Cryoclasm: Your sliding ability is enhanced. Sliding into a Stasis crystal or frozen enemy shatters the object and launches everything frozen nearby
These are all 6 known fragments
- 1. Whisper of Hedrons: Gain a weapon damage bonus after freezing a target with Stasis (-10 Strength).
- 2. Whisper of Rifts: Increases the damage and size of the Stasis explosion when you destroy a Stasis crystal or defeat a frozen target.
- 3. Whisper of Refraction: Defeating slowed or frozen targets grants class ability energy.
- 4. Whisper of Chains: The slow effect from your abilities lasts longer and the duration of lingering effects is increased (+10 Strength).
- 5. Whisper of Conduction: Defeating frozen targets with weapons grants super energy (-10 intellect and -10 discipline).
- 6. Whisper of Shards: Shattering a Stasis crystal temporarily increases your grenade recharge rate. Shattering additional Stasis crystals extends this benefit (+10 resilience).
