How do you see it? Is Stasis slowly becoming a problem for Destiny 2 or are you having fun with the new ice abilities?
Players also feared that a combination of Exotics would soon be banned – but here there is good news. This build is intended by Bungie: Double poison build is the new star in Destiny 2 – Here’s how to build it
In Destiny 2, the new element Stasis has been in the game for a week, but is slowly becoming problematic. Even the strongest bosses are melting in seconds from the ice power. Now players fear for the new raid on Beyond Light, and Bungie has already responded.
What has Stasis done now? Since November 10, for about a week, Guardians have been able to play the new Stasis abilities from Destiny 2: Beyond Light. Slowly, most players have completed the story of the expansion and worked through many quests. Now the experimentation with Stasis, the ice element, begins.
Especially in PvP, Stasis has proven to be a nightmare for many. The Crucible resembles a glacier landscape where everything freezes and shatters into a thousand ice crystals.
But PvE is not safe either; even towering raid bosses melt in seconds from the ice abilities, as it turns out.
This is how strong the ice magic is: Gladd, the biggest Destiny streamer on Twitch, gathered a handful of Guardians and ventured into the “Last Wish” raid. Against the first boss, they collectively use their Stasis super as a greeting, even before the damage phase begins:
That’s why even the pro is confused: Initially, the boss Kalli is only there to disrupt – the real damage phase only begins after some mechanics. When the team looks for Kalli after their frosty hello, they find: the boss is defeated.
At first, they can’t believe it. Gladd says after a few seconds: “Do you see what I see? Look at the bottom of the screen.” He refers to the spot where Kalli’s health bar should be. Then the message follows that the encounter is completed.
Since it was so nice, the final raid boss Riven is sent to winter hibernation in record time:
Is this a bug? The whole thing is curious because Stasis is not a classic “damage super”. The ice magic is supposed to freeze enemies or immobilize them through snowstorms.
As a result, Destiny 2 has received a decent dose of MMORPG, namely CC, or Crowd Control. Thus, Stasis should distinguish itself from damage supers like burning hand cannons and support supers. The goal lies in controlling the environment, not in destruction.
Looking at the bosses’ health bars, however, it becomes clear that they go from 100% directly to 0%. It cannot be intended that way. In Gambit mode, the Primeval boss suffers such severe freeze damage from the entire team’s Stasis salvos that he immediately gives up, even though he is supposed to be immune:
Is the new raid from Beyond Light in danger?
This is what players are now panicking about: Guardians have no problem with overpowered weapons. Outsmarting or glitching bosses has been part of Destiny’s good manners for years.
- In the first raid, bosses were thrown off the map by clever grenades
- The overpowered Gjallarhorn even has its own holiday
- Riven is still rarely defeated “legally” by anyone
But with Stasis, it is more problematic. Because here, one doesn’t have to do much. It seems that as soon as enough Guardians spam their Stasis super, really everything doesn’t matter.
The clip from Gambit also shows that one not only takes down bosses this way, but can also ruin other real players’ matches. Some suspect this is the reason for the sudden cancellation of the PvP mode Trials of Osiris.

What about the new raid? Some Guardians now fear that the new raid launch will be canceled. It is set to begin on November 21.
Others jokingly say that Bungie should deactivate Stasis completely. Otherwise, the traditional World-First race would be completely unfair. Here, it is about figuring out mechanics and finding the optimal combinations of classes and weapons.
This is what Bungie says: Bungie has not overlooked how wild Stasis is acting right now. Community Manager Dylan “dmg04” Gaffner responded on Twitter, stating that they currently do not plan to postpone the raid.
He further stated that the team is looking for possible fixes for the annoying Stasis bug so that the World-First race is not in danger. More news should follow during the week.
