Starting today, a multi-day community summit for Season 7 of Destiny 2 is taking place. Here you can fill out a survey that is to be sent directly to Bungie.
What is this event about? Two weeks ago, the streamer Gladd leaked that he has been invited to a community summit. Several community representatives will be allowed to enter the sacred halls of Bungie to get a glimpse of future Destiny content and provide feedback.
The community summit for Season 7, the Season of Opulence, will run from March 27 to March 29. This season marks the conclusion of Year 2 of Destiny 2 – and apparently Bungie wants this to be really good and to meet the wishes of the community. Season 7 is the theme of the community summit.
Who is invited to the community summit? Bungie’s DeeJ wrote on Twitter two days ago that he is happy to welcome some guardians from the community this week. They will be allowed to play new stuff and share their thoughts on it.
Some of the guests are supposed to be well-known (like Gladd). Other guests are said to be not famous but “just cool”. In the comments, a user writes that he is not a content creator but simply loves Destiny and would like to share his opinion. DeeJ replied that they have invited such people as well.
DeeJ mentions that what is special about the feedback from streamers is that they rarely say: “Here is what I want …”, but usually summarize what they read in their chat while playing.
However, they have also invited many unknown guardians. Even if they do not publicly show themselves, they are still part of the community summit.
When exactly is the community summit? Gladd tweeted a few hours ago that he is heading to Bungie now and will stay there for three days.
How you can share your opinion
Survey on PvE content: Shortly before the summit starts, a team from the RaidSecrets Reddit launched a community survey on PvE content that will be given to summit participants. This is a unique opportunity for everyone to voice their opinions directly to Bungie.

- What is your opinion and feedback on the Niobe Labs? That was a tough puzzle that the community had to solve together.
- Your opinion on the current state of PvE balance (the power of weapons and abilities, difficulty, content loop)

- Your opinion on secrets and quests like the Whisper Quest (are they accessible to the general public?)
- What ideas do you have on how to better connect with other guardians for playing content together?
What’s in Season 7?
The contents of Season 7: Besides the usual innovations such as a power level increase, new weapons, armor pieces, and cosmetics, the highlights of Season 7 include:
- An exotic quest
- The event Sundering of Heroes
- A new 6-player activity with matchmaking
- A new raid
- Two unknown contents
- Improvements such as a revision of enhancement cores
Season 7 runs from June to August 2019.
What specific contents of Season 7 can be tested at the community summit and how significantly the feedback will influence the development process is something we will probably never know exactly. Because all participants will presumably not be allowed to talk about what they experienced in the Bungie studios.
The participants, mostly well-known YouTubers and streamers, had to sign a nondisclosure agreement and could review and evaluate the planned content for Forsaken behind closed doors. That Forsaken could significantly improve Destiny 2 was possibly also due to this summit.
Season 7 is now also supposed to benefit from direct feedback from the community. It is the second community summit so far.
